Giant tomato trees - not so giant!!!
written by Ms. Green Jeans, July 20, 2010
I ordered from an email spam-mercial 3 giant tomato trees and got 3 free early giant tomato plants.

First of all, I did not get "plants". What I received were 6 small, plastic sealed, egg crate containers filled with dirt. Since I received them at least 4 weeks after placing my order, there's no telling how long they had been sitting on some shelf in some warehouse before my order was ever placed.

I remember thinking, there's no way these things will sprout, assuming there's even any seeds in there! Well, after watering daily and providing the right amount of warmth/sunlight, all six seeds sprouted and have since grown into fine looking, healthy tomato plants.

Today, nearly 60 days from the time they were planted outside, I have beautiful 4' tall tomato plants full of green tomatoes. Unfortunately, unless those three 8' tall tomato trees really take off and grow another 4' in 30 days, I doubt they are going to reach their, as advertised, 8' in 90 days tree height. Additionally, I can't tell the difference in the size of the stalks/stems among any of the 6 plants and none of the green tomatoes currently growing appear as though they will produce the sizes advertised.

If anyone has grown an 8' tomato tree or produced tomatoes as large as advertised, I'd like to hear from you. I'm pleased with the abundance and health of my tomato plants, but do think the advertising is exaggerated.

This tomato plant grew taller than me and produced more luscious tomatoes than my family of five could eat. And the tomatoes would never be mistaken for baseballs, like those from the grocery store!

I planted my tomotoes in 5 gallon buckets even in milk jugs, seen on youtube, It says to water every day they have been planted about 5 days now, looking great so far, but even though the plants are doing good and the dirt is staying wet should I still water them daily except when it rains?
Thank You for your help have a wonderful day,
~Midniteswim~

Mommies Rules
written by Jeri Thomas, March 18, 2009
Love it Love it Love It! My children Jill, Jerry, and Jojo hate it when I make them eat veggies, it is a battle at dinner time every night. Rule 1 in the house is we grow it we eat it, and they do with out argument. Now with this Giant Tomato we can have tomatoes more often and sooner than we normally do. Cant wait for that cheese and tomato sandwich.

The Giant Tomato lives next door
written by Chrissy Wagner, March 13, 2009
Our neighbor is big into growing tomatoes in his yard. We bought him the Giant Tomato as a surprise and he was thrilled with how quick and easy it grew. His new tomato tree produces 3x the tomatoes than his garden alone did. The best part is we get to reap some of the reward when he shares his home grown tomatoes with us!

written by Sandy, March 05, 2009
I wish I could have this much success with all the vegetables in my garden! My neighborhood now calls me the tomato lady since I put out a table with a sign for anybody to take tomatoes for free! I was so excited when one of my neighbors brought me a homemade jar of spaghetti sauce as a thank you!
