I bought six rolls of this as seen on TV silicone tape not knowing if it would work as advertised. I had to have color-coded wiring bundles for my old street rod. Well, guess what, it works better than electrical tape because it stretches and seals moisture out. I'm tickled with Fixit tape plan to try it for water leaks. I have no doubt it will do a great job.

Miracle of Modern Science
written by Randy Clemens, August 08, 2010
Fixit repaired my windshield wiper fluid hose, so I foolishly thought it would do the same for my expensive air mattress that had a leak in the seam. Wrong! It has to wrap around and fuse to itself, so this is one job this tape could not do, even though I consider it a miracle of modern science!

Fix It Tape is awesome as advertised. It has no adhesive on it, but it sticks to itself superbly. It totally saved us when we had a leaky hose way out in the desert!

Overlap the turns at least 50%
written by George Bowen, August 08, 2010
This self-fusing tape is strong, but it has to be stretched at least double length while applying it, and sometimes it's hard to keep it clean while applying. It makes a good bandage for a coolant leak as long as the hose is stiff enough to not collapse while the tape is being applied. You can apply it over a wet surface, but don’t let it get wet in between the layers or it may not cure. This is the silicone version of rubber electrician tape, but much stronger and more durable.

Mighty Fixit is not the replacement for duct tape since it cannot be used on a tear in a fabric cover. It only adheres to itself, making it good for wires, pipes and hoses. Even on a pressurized hose, it has so far worked very well.

Changed name because it's not "tape"
written by TheGman, July 08, 2010
It's no longer called Mighty Tape per their own commercial and text above it's not tape since it doesn't stick/bound to anything (just tightly hugs it)

This stuff is truly amazing for fixing leaky hoses and pipes. Too bad they haven't figured out a way to use it to fix that oil leak in the Gulf!!

Is Mighty Fix It really Mighty Tape written by As Seen On TV critic, December 18, 2009
I remember when Billy Mays died he had just finished working on a commercial for Mighty Tape. I saw it on youtube and it's the same thing as Mighty Tape. The stuff looked awesome. I see your new commercial is with the Anthony Sullivan and doesn't show the scuba diver bit where they fix his leaky hose underwater. That was the funniest part of the Mighty Tape Commercial but I guess out of respect they must leave it out.
So I'm wondering why they changed the name from Mighty Tape to Mighty Fixit. Any Clue? Oh and thanks for posting the Mighty Tape Video on your Amazing Products youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEOwUv9lFwI I love how Billy Mays is in full garb under water. I miss him. report abuse
