Turpentine? Seriously? The fumes are harmful, you've completely ruined your sponge and you containers for future kitchen use and then, worst of all, you wash it down the drain and into the environment. Bad form all the way around. And, P.S., if you are anywhere in the United States, it is actually illegal to put turpentine or any other fuels into the sewers, even if you have a septic tank. Maybe try citric acid, like lemon juice or maybe cheap wine. Both make great cleaners when mixed with salt.

Holly cow what in Gods name are you doing in the bathtub that you need toxic turpentine and a tone of salt to clean. Not to mention that you just washed all of that untreated turpentine right in to your municipal water table. At this point I can only call you STUPID ðĪŠ

LOL today used the egg one… it works like a dream, now some comments are valid, but I managed to drop a WHOLE tray of 18 eggs from the fridge onto the floor, I had floor mats and it was a MESS. so I got the salt out and the whites set straight away, the problem is is that in some places where multiple eggs had broken, the bottoms hadn't quite set, but n one the less, it was a MASSIVE improvement on raggs, the other option would have been my shop vac.. good hack and it works !
