Comments

  1. Former Pure Storage engineer here. Their technology is so much more than "this is a big ssd." Pure has amazing technology under the hood.

  2. Ok. How much is this going to cost me?

  3. @ANTHONY YOUNG, is that your sigma face in the video's image? <3

  4. Cool tech, even if it's a bit of a marketing video.
Still not sure what solution for storage I want to have in the future. This seems to only scale to the Datacenter, not consumers.

  5. Pure Storage people are rude to NetApp employees. I had a guy at the motorcycle shop being so nice to me about motorcycles and as soon as he asked where I worked and as soon as I said NetApp he let me know he worked for Pure and I should piss off at that point. I wish I was joking.

  6. RIP EMC! lol

  7. God i love athony. He very intrinsically knows and and appreciates what he's talking about

Bruh. I love your content. Your balding. Shave your head already lol

  8. 8:16 His hair flowing in the breeze …

  9. amazing stuff as always. I love this guys vibe

  10. I can tell that place is not in California🤡 meaning California has power outages

  11. I can see it's more efficient at reading and writing, considering that to read and write as much data on a HDD, if you put aside the impracticality of having to wait, the amount of energy the hard drive would have to consume would be enormous.
However, going by how many watts they are, 1.3 watts per terabyte doesn't do justice as a high capacity HDD will win, being roughly 5 watts in operation for what now goes up to 20 TB.
This is some pretty cool tech, I've always loved looking at these kinds of application specific solutions, even if they're using standard processors, the specifity of the hardwares configuration and software.
I wonder what could be done with an ASIC for this kind of scale.

  12. we love you, anthony!

  13. Nvidia Broadcast sure seems like it would've been useful for this video. Is there a reason LTT Editors aren't using AI software to remove awful background noise like in this video? Seems kinda obvious to me…

  14. My takeaway: when an AI becomes sentient and takes over, it will be running on Pure Storage.

  15. Imagine a 48TB SSD

  16. Damn, that thing is a beast…

  17. This is cool as frick but I can't stand the fan noise. If I have to listen to 20k rpm 40 mm arrays I want to get paid at least.

  18. Damn how next level comes soo soon….just makes you as a company probably want to spend even more money🫠

  19. And we PC home users are still waiting for the release of NVME 2.0…..

  20. Why didn't You use AI to remove background noise?

  21. впечатляет

  22. this is the most excited i’ve seen anthony!

  23. Purestorage is awesome. We have a few of them and they are fantastic beasts.

  24. 👍👍👍

We have those in our DCs, they are badass!

  25. but can it play crysis ?

  26. Pukebook, not meta. Don't let Puckerzerg hoodwink you, he is still the callous little insect that made a platform to rate campus women on their looks.

  27. I feel like Anthony is the real genius at Linus tech

  28. Impressive engineering. Very.

  29. Sorry, but this is kind of of off topic, but don't run your SSD at 95% capacity, it's like your SSD is trying to play those games, you know the ones I'm talking about, those frustrating games where you have a 9 square board and you have eight squares to play with, and you have to slide each piece one by one to make a picture, yea… THAT'S WHAT YOUR SSD IS DOING WHEN IT'S AT 95% CAPACITY, so…. Take care of your hard drives

  30. I love these field trip videos with the team especially Anthony

  31. Anthony talks of flash surpassing HDDs. In many ways it probably will, but I wonder if it will ever surpass it for archival purposes?

  32. Really interesting technology, such a rack would be ideal for a Nas.
    or?

Anthony should start his own channel. Linus has irritating voice

  33. You can tell just how educated Anthony is. Love the excitement

  34. hello i want help I want to buy a gaming PC but I don't have money, can you help me I've watched many of your videos from expensive computers, and cheap hardware too Can you help me if you can?

  35. Ah the roar of a data center.

  36. Facinating. Is mean time to failure the only advantage magnetic spinning hard drives have left?

  37. I giggled with so much joy watching this video

  38. 40tb+ on that thing? When can I get one in my PC?

  39. Ok, that was super cool. For a half a second I thought this was just gonna be a regular SAN server hardware-wise, but the fact they're doing custom solutions with lower-end stuff to get high-end performance is really neat.

I wonder if they ever sell off their older stuff… From the sounds of it even their stuff from a few years ago would be wicked fast by consumer standards

  40. This is government watching citizens level of data processing technology.

  41. This guy's tech videos are excellent.
