  1. I normally dont comment on video´s and especially not to sponsor messages… But this Bark thing, does this have a legal base to be used? It seems off in a lot of ways, I understand that protecting your children is important, but tracking them through AI to see what they are doing is a whole other level I would say.

  2. everyone: we want 4K
me: my internet cant load 1080p im just gonna watch at 720p

  3. Neither title nor thumbnail has any indication that this is in regards to AI upscaling, really?

Based on that and previous lmg content I was 100% certain the video would be an opinion piece regarding monetisation etc

  4. Put away your wallets… then pull it back out to buy a 30/40 series

  5. Oh neat, just now need to spend money on Nvidia GPU now

"NVIDIA RTX 30 and 40 series GPUs can use AI to upscale any video you playback in a web browser to 4K… Even this message from our sponsor!"

Me: Hang on, let me check playback resolution… huh… 2160p, otherwise abbreviated as 4K… Well what do ya know.

    I understand it's compressed, it's just a joke.

  6. Geforce Now has similar upscaling built in. So it works in principle for live gameplay if the gameplay is seen as a 2d video.

  7. Watching closely on their comparisons not really seeing a difference…realising after way too long, I’m watching this on 480p YouTube myself…🤦‍♂️

  8. I had a go of it. It kinda stinks it makes fast movement and dark sense very smudged. Maybe they will make it better.
    I was using 3080

  9. How is the movie called with the drug truck? I never found out.

  10. Looks like my 3080Ti goes from 30ish to 110ish watts.

  11. Does it make 1080p monitors to 4K?

  12. It would be awesome if Nvidia will introduce a new Shield version with this feature once it's more polished (power consumption etc.)

  13. I gotta wonder at some point if some of the older TV shows run through Netflix, like Malcom in the Middle or older Simpsons episodes, that are essentially made in TV resolutions like 540i arent just pre-upscaled by Netflix themselves to 1080p via basic interpolation and the Nvidia upscaler gets confused by having a 1080p video input that shows an upscaled 540i image.

  14. Random fun fact I noticed: when you poweroff your computer, the ram gets cleared in less than a second. If you have 1TB of RAM (like in a very high end workstation), you're basically writing all zeros to it at a very insane speed.

FSR is a far better solution sice
    1 it is open source
2 works on all GPU's ( and thats a big thing since implementing something only for the 30 or 40 users is kinda dumb , not everyone can pay for one of those )

  15. Stole the name from AMD, typical

  16. Next step please nVidia: coming from 30fps video to 60 fps video option ^^ Thanks guys !

  17. Random peoplein tiktok can do better than that.

  18. Paying for Youtube to avoid advertising is dumb. Especially if the videos are packed with ads anyways. 😂

  19. i legit really need these on 20 series ASAP because my current internet is getting a lot worse after i moved out for work

  20. Me watching 4K content with YouTube Premium on my TV: 😬

  21. Piracy is also free you know.

  22. man this is impressive even though its not perfect it has alot of potential

  23. Firefox support when?

  24. 720p is just fine unless you wanna go pixel-peeping. Heck I play retro console games at 360p.

And just 152 days ago, Linus is explaining how it’s okay for them to charge. His content keeps contrasting from his other contrasting from his other content. Stop forcing your writers to make so many new videos and take the time to make proper videos that don’t have text annotating all the mistakes in the numeral/naming facts (like at least twice a video) cmon man. Do better

  25. firefox

  26. And still uploads yt videos in 4K Instead of 60fps.

  27. This test setup missed one station. Running 1080p vid at 1080p res on a 4k monitor. For me this looks best when gaming at lower resolutions.

  28. Me trying to see the difference of an upscaled 4k video while watching in 1080 😅😂😂

  29. if it is reading normal playback videos from the chrome based browser and upscaling them to fit the displays max output i wonder if you could use the vsr to upscale game streaming content like xbox cloud gaming and other things. i am fully curious about it because i am not fully too sure how it works except the basic understanding of it.

edit: I tested both Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now and found that they both run VSR. However, Xbox Cloud Gaming's performance was hindered by glitching in the video feed, which may be due to Microsoft's use of interlacing. On the other hand, GeForce Now ran very smoothly, even at a resolution of 900p scaled to 1080p. While there was some minor smoothing on skin tones and far away objects, I was impressed with how well it ran overall.

One potential benefit of these services is that they can improve game streaming for people with a good internet connection but a lower-end computer, such as one with an RTX 3050. By using VSR, they can enjoy games with higher resolution and better graphics. Additionally, these services can also be useful for people with slower internet connections who want to run games at a lower resolution but still enjoy them.

  30. BREAKING BAD !!!!

mate in the UK NOW TV makes you pay extra for HD!

  31. My opinion about the power consumption is that if you have an 80 series graphics card, then you can afford the power. VSR is still worthwhile for content that was never available in 4K in the first place. I’ll keep my 4K Netflix subscription since native 4K still looks great but happily use VSR on my 4080 even with the increased power consumption for content that is not available in 4K like twitch streams.

  32. Also, if you pay for Netflix, disney plus and use it on your pcs, you can't even get 4K due to them limiting it to 1080p because of piracy. 😔

  33. Just tried, works great on twitch but my 4080 draws 170/180W…not worth it imho

  34. So I’ll have to upgrade my 1080? :/

  35. While the energy usage might be slightly expensive when you are streaming on only one platform, if you watch on multiple platforms (youtube, netflix, disney, espn) then not having to pay for a higher tier to get to 4K on any of them will save a huge amount of money versus the energy cost. This also has the chance to help reduce data usage and allow people to not need to pay for a higher tier internet plan, which can also be very expensive. My unlimited plan (needed because of all of the streaming we do) is $179.99/month. If I could cut that down to 500GB/month, it would save $70/month. Over $800/year. Then reduce all of the streaming platforms down to 1080p level and soon you're saving $1000/year and increasing the power bill by $200-$300/year. Net savings of over $800.

Edit: That savings means that an RTX 30 or 40 series card could literally pay for itself in a year of streaming.

  36. Just to throw my experience into the mix, I have a 4070ti, and I saw basically idle temps and no more than 30 watts of power drawn when I checked it out. Take that for what you will.
