  1. I know at least 5 people from my university who use gaming laptops. Even some teachers.

  2. <– Bought the all AMD Asus G13 Advantage Edition laptop for $1000 used CAD, with upgraded RAM 👍

  3. Well, Ive been using these gigantic laptops for past 6 years and in fact it does damage your shoulder and spine.. but I do spend 30~40% of the year on business trips.. its like being able to bring your desktop anywhere you go.. its worth the price and effort..

  4. i dont care how powerful laptops get, I used one through uni for my gaming and class and the thermal throttling cpu melting was horrendous

  5. I am doing a 2D and 3D motion design. My main computer is a desktop. However, I need a big laptop as a backup computer when traveling.

  6. I fall into this category somewhat as well. Need to be able to carry my work with me, but would also like to game during my down time when not at home, or even when I can't be in the same spot at home.

  7. I work on a Dell 7670… It does nothing but overheat while opening notepad. Anything else heavier than this it thermalthrottle and limits the CPU at 2.35ghz.

  8. Didnt watch yet but short answer: ME. I would love a 21" Laptop. Simply because of the additional headroom for cooling. More Performance and/or less noise, what is not to love. Now, I mainly use my laptop as a gaming machine when I am not home on a desk either at work or during hotel/family-Stays, so the additional weight and lower battery life do not concern me one bit. More of a desktop replacement but regardless, even if it would weigh 4kg+, still significantly less heavy than my 24kg Desktop. Also, my physique is quite sturdy, so I do not mind carrying around 4kg Laptops on my back, only fools use carrying cases for Laptops anyways 😛

  9. Why do I want a big laptop? Simple. SO I CAN SEE STUFF ON THE SCREEN! When I'm connected to equipment and I have 4-5 programs open to tune and observe operation.

  10. Last gen it was the same thing with GPUs, the 3080's were just bottlenecked, so the majority of laptops only showed a very slight improvement. The big ones did have a bit more of an advantage, but still quite small, and nowhere close to the improvements you saw on the desktop versions.

This is in effect made the mobile 3070 still faster than a desktop 3060, while the mobile 3080 was barely better, or even below the 3070.
My guess is that the mobile 4070 will be much closer to the desktop 4070 performance, while the 4080 and 4090 will be pretty much BS.

  11. Engineering on the move. Stop adding too much leds though.:P

I use a big ol gaming laptop because I just feel more comfortable with laptops for various reasons. Grew up with them and have some needs that make being able to easily reposition throughout the house or even just. In the room very nice.

  12. 0:50 ppppffftttt I turtle to 7 GHz – even though I'm just a 17 yeah old with a birth defect who enjoys martial arts… A "teenage mutant ninja turtle" you might say!

  13. Hey there Linus, I love the work you are doing with the products on your store, especially the screwdriver and the water-bottles, and I was stoked to see the bag-pack release, and instantly wanted one, due to its great feature set! Then I scrolled down and saw the price…

$250 is pretty good for an ultra-premium bag-pack, one that may last you a decade, or more, but that isn't how most people use their bags. Most of us buy bags for work, school and personal use, we don't expect them to be scratch, or knife-proof, and want them to be cheap enough that we can chuck them around without much worry, and maybe we might change our bag-packs after a bit due to changes in our preferences and whatnot. I hope you guys could make an actually consumer friendly, good looking, well working bag-pack, there are loads of us in countries such as India and more who would love to support your work, (ps: I just want an ltt bag-pack but $250 is a shit-ton of money).

  14. I came here for Linus nice hair cut. Look younger like teenager 🤗

  15. Hi I looked through the Internet about info regarding a msi h410m-b and rtx 3060ti and if I can use them together, sadly for me all the infos were bleary. Can someone tell me if I can use the 3060ti on this motherboard or not pls.

  16. i have one. i dont like the thin one sorry. i need the cooling fan.

  17. Gamers who travel a lot but still want an experience comprable to desktops. Sure, you could get a steam deck if you actually want a screen that small or you could lug around a nice monitor and tower, but these giant gaming laptops do bridge a gap.

  18. You have to think about more than just North America, in Eastern Europe for example it's actually cheaper to buy a mid tier gaming laptop on sale with a tax writeoff than it is to build a similar specced pc and buy peripherals. And if you wanted a pc and got a laptop you might as well buy a huge one for better cooling and so on.

  19. Whose buying giant laptops, someone from 2006 with a time machine (?) 🤷🏿

  20. games at 4k on laptop gpu: 175watts more or less
Desktop GPU: 300WATTS+ take it or leave it

  21. You say giant laptop, I say portable desktop. Waiting for Clevo to release a Ryzen desktop stocket laptop before I upgrade from my P775TM1

  22. I had an Alienware M18x ( which was upgradable).

  23. I have a friend who likes to game but his job has him out on the road all the time for him this kind of laptop works well because he is in hotel rooms so often

  24. My favourite laptop was my giant 17" HP 8710w, with its 1920×1200 display, Quadro graphics, number pad and actual physical trackpad buttons. 🤤 They were the days.

  25. I really wish we were getting a comparison to last gen desktop hardware. I think we’d be a lot more surprised at how that testing would go.

  26. Its true, I have a g14, costs as much as a high end pc with less performance, but I log this thing around literally everywhere. Portability wins for me.

  27. I purchased an asus rog desktop on sale. I pretty much replaced everything except the mobo, and the gpu and cpu. Garbage psu, ram, and cooling. I had to add fans to their pathetic stock cooling. Stay away from asus prebuilt

I once swapped a keyboard on a MSI notebook, I will never spend any money on any of their notebooks again. I am glad it was used and I didn't pay full price. It was a horrible mess of molten plastic bolts and glue to keep the keyboard in the glued plastic-aluminum hybrid shell. I could probably have bought the entire shell with the keyboard built-in but for changing a keyboard that's ridiculous …

  28. I'll tell you right now who buys them, people like me that want desktop power and gaming but travel alot or constantly for work.

  29. I buy them
