Nvidia’s RTX 4070 is a complicated card.. on one hand it is the best value we’ve seen in years, but on the other everyone is still mad.

Deals for Days. Big home savings are happening now.
what about inflation?
And they are $1100 + in Australia yay
I upgraded from a 1080ti to a 7900XT after seeing 4080 and 4090 prices. They've lost me for the next handful of years I imagine.
Dlss3 sucks. It shouldn't exist.
6800XT is a fantastic GPU, and now there is momentum with their GPGPU drivers coming to Windows soon.
I bought my 2nd hand 3080 for $450 and I will stick with it until enthusiastic GPU's price fall down to $400-$500 range once again.
Great review! Clearly a lot to be a bit grumpy about, especially the cost increase to performance boost since last gen, but in the right scenario this still feels like a good option in niche circumstances. My brother is on the now ancient 4790k with a 1070 ti, and holding out for ddr5 to be more accessible and standard before upgrading his cpu and mobo etc, but is desperate for a better gpu to carry him through that. He’s obviously gonna be cpu bottlenecked a lot, but even so, a 3080 for $600 that sounds like it will work with his 750W supply feels like a great quality of life improvement until he can sort the rest of his rig. His rig is actually a hand me down from me, I upgraded everything after I was lucky enough to get a 3080 FE back in 2020, but there was a short window where I just slotted the 3080 into that 4790k setup and it definitely ran things a WHOLE lot nicer. This feels like a perfect bridge gpu in that (very particular) case
As someone's who's still rocking the 1080, and started with blender recently, until those cards halve in price I don't think I'll go for them lol. Just bonkers.
Sorry nvidia, needs more vram. how about a 24gig 4060 card? Then ill upgrade. I'll keep using my 1070 until it dies otherwise.
Please advise, would the i7 5820k processor tighten the rtx 4070 graphics? Won't it slow it down a lot?
how are you hitting 72 average frames on CP 2077 4090 with RT Max at 4k? Something is off there.
Makes AMD look good. I mean, for the same price you can get an RX 6950 XT. A vastly superior product.
Undies Linus? Shame?
RETURN OF THE RADEONS LESGOOOOOOOOOO
Instead of a new GPU, I'm gonna upgrade from a TN panel to OLED TV.
I bought a brand new evga 3070 for $364 USD 🙂
My "only buy every other generation of Nvidia cards" theory stands strong.
Fuck #nvidia, still happy with my 3070 and will keep it for maaaany years to come 😀
the 3080 12gb is basically the same in benchmarks across the board 5 or 10 frames here on 4070 somtimes.
Though many of you are probably too young to remember, but being in my 40s, I can tell you right now, this generation of low ram count overpriced gimmick Geforce cards basically reminds me of the Geforce FX line. Including how that line was marketed and priced, and expected to compete with the Radeon 9000 series in DirectX 9. Except in this case, you have Radeons in both the prior RX 6000 and current 7000 series being better bang for buck products. Radeons that are not relying solely on gimmicks to get them by, instead relying on raw performance and adequate vram amounts to deliver actual value.
Just because of this a 1080ti will be the biggest upgrade I do gpu wise until it’s bad
VideoCum!
Went from a 1070 GTX to an Intel Arc A770, Nvidia needs to learn from their 40 series misadventures, way overpriced.
