Coming from a 9 yr old i5 3230m on a laptop that i cool with a an oscillating fan, budget parts in 2023 are very well priced for what they’re capable of, for a person like me a 4.0ghz cpu that I can play genshin impact on and do my work on is more than enough.. I’ve always been a spectator in this field but I feel like the highest end hardware only separates you from lower end spec players and doesn’t really make the actual gaming experience significantly better. Visually, sure, but gameplay is the fame, which is why low end people still are able to have so much fun with low graphics. Especially us who grew up with Half Life 1 and Other very low graphic games around..
Pc gaming is only good for online multiplayer titles. Most triple A titles simply lack the optimisation for pc hardware no matter how powerful your gpu is. There is no point having High fps if the in game experience is so bad with 60fps caps and juddery/poorly optimised frame rendering. People call xbox and ps5 owners console peasants but at least they have a gaming experience that "just works" without any tinkering.

PC gaming are dying, I saw several my PC Gamers are converted to become console player. It's simpler & had better cost / frame to any PC rig with current price. The price of GPU are insane but, it's not only GPU that are cost arm & leg, the PSU, cooler & mobo price are also increasing.
From GPU there's no value GPU anymore. Nvidia stingy Vram ( that not enough to play latest title) + expensive price. AMD had heat problem , constant high consuming power & also the driver problem. Lastly, Intel… Well for Intel, its better to buy Nvidia 3070 or RX6800 or 6900 series.
Nvidia shareholders got used to massive growth in the mining boom and now the dogs wont let go. Too bad, it all comes down to supply and demand, and right now the demand for spastic pricing is at an all time low
On 4090 gpu
With things like the steam deck and other handhelds i would say yes its dyeing fast

yea its dying , ive been building pc's since 1999 and prices are just crazy now …im not spending $1600 for a high end gpu thats half ass u cant even use raytacing without fps drops it should just work for as much as the gpu;s cost now a days , im done with pc gaming i brought a xbox series x and im good now …i dnt have to worry about all the extra shit no more i can just play games without spending thousands of dollars tryin to have the fastest system anymore …its just not worth it anymore , have fun being robbed for your hard earned money cause nvidia is not worried about the consumers experience its all about the money i wont be a fool nomore ,but as long as ppl keep buying the cards they gonna keep raising the prices and give us less performance for our dollar with small upgrades with ram and gpu performance … how do ppl not see this …stop supporting these companies and good change will come they wont have no choice but to do better but until then ill just play my xbox , thanx microsoft for makin a cheap but great gaming device

I normally buy a new machine every 5 years. I bought my current PC back in 2016 so in my 7th year now on this rig. I definitely will upgrade at some point but with higher prices I want to make sure I've played every game in my huge backlog of Steam sale purchases that my current PC can handle because there is no point in spending £3k on a new system just to play Subnautica or Orcs Must Die 3.

It's a shame when my 1070 back near launch was cheaper than my 3060ti 1year after launch, hoping my 3060ti lasts same as my 1070 did tbh.
