Comments

  1. Love everything sever related, The Supermicro kit is amazing. they have the coolest gear..

  2. this is definitely too janky considering the size of LTT and reliance on these for literally everything. I'm not saying "it doesn't work" , but it's far from what I'd expect from a internet company this size

  3. using proxmox and ceph would be nice for your workload

  4. Servers.

  5. Linus, can you make a video on all the different remote access things? Desktop Vision is my favorite, I want your opinion

  6. Damn… Future Dan did some seriously nice work on that new Rack in the Labs building. Kudos to you past Future Dan.

  7. bro, you need heaters in your server room. don't let your servers get cold, keep them nice and toasty, right on the edge of failure. the electrons slide more smoothly when they are almost failing

  8. Shows 120, not sure why he’s saying 208. 208 is when you grab any two wires from a 3-phase supply. Maybe he means 240….. But hey, I don’t speak Canadian! I do play an electrician on TV!

  9. 2:39 why use a router on a stick to do inter-vlan routing instead of using a layer 3 switch?

  10. man it would be so epic to have even 1 of those out dated servers. bet even one of those old ones running at 20% would be 1000x better then my old one.

  11. Linus' casually talking loudly at his JBODs

  12. For PF, you could probably use OpenBSD, if it's compatible.

  13. TIL, my home ubitiquit network has more aggregate bandwidth and better switching than linus's office. Dude, your supposed to be using the UXG-PRO and your cloudkey is not supposed to be integrated, thats a feature to pack everything in the same box and make it cheaper, cool yes, but way more robust when everything is dedicated bits. also the integrated dreammachines do not support tools company's like LTT needs like multisite

hmu, i can clue you in, love you guys but this is sad to watch you still struggle with this.

  14. a mikrotik switch in a graveyard? Blasphemy

  15. What an absolute mess

  16. Love it. Also great to see some large rollouts of U6 Enterprise. I have 130 rolled out at once campus, great wireless coverage!

  17. What sfp breakout did you use please

  18. You guys are very far down the rabbit hole

I'm also under the impression that people watching this stuff don't need to have JBOD explained to them…

  19. can I ask why you stopped running UNRAID. I been running 5.06 for many many years. never tried 6. I was about to try 6 with a start of three 12tb drives and a 2tb ssd for caching. Should I do something different. I only use mine for pics music and video storage. I dont transcode anything.

  20. 00:24 Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

  21. man i miss the jank. it was relatable and so much fun to watch and much more to learn from

  22. Why can´t i get free SSD´s. Where is my free stuff. I want few Tb of SSD´s for free. Also how much have you guys spent on Ethernet cables…
