Should the phone ask you to trust the host before transferring data?
Protection is mandatory in anything
jokes on them my charging port doesnt work so I can only mag charge 😀
what if i, hear me out, install linux on my phone and make it so my drive type is not something that wind can read?
The chances of your phone getting hacked by a charger are less than those of you winning the powerball… Much less… If at all possible… But if you are really that worried about it, just get a power only charging cable instead of some shady, bulky, badly made and easy to break adapter dongle…
Hm.
It's no coincidence I carry a (slow) charge-only cable to use if I don't have my power bank. It has no data lines, just power + and –
Does this dongle allow fast charging signals through?
wait, people can bypass the charge only mode?
You can change it in your settings to only receive power and not data
why do i need that?
the simplest and cheapest cable (the old one) only have power not data transfer.
So, why do i need to buy that ?
But the phone asks which option you need? Like Mtp, data transfer, charging only 😂
So technically we can called that "USB Condom"
Me with a broken cable (?)
Who still uses USB-A chargers?
This is probably the most effective ad I've ever seen😂
Back in the day this was the difference between the power cord and the data cord…smh
Use a cheap usb it comes with power cable only
Doesnt android natively ignore data input unless requested on the phone
Ltt’s Mr beast
Better acting than most TV shows.
Overvoltage reason hasn't been explained
Why cary around a usb protector when you can cary around a charing brick instead??? Charging brick even has fast charge! Free tech tip from me: NEVER bring protection, ALWAYS bring your own wall power brick.
That first 5 seconds of video was animal abuse 😂
ALWAYS USE PROTECTION! Thank me later
me: laughs with power only USB cable
i just have a crappy cable from china 😂 cost 12 cents
The pocket shirt is from coolshirtz
Lol USB condom
Does setting your phone to charge only not work?
Where can I get one?
Question for anyone that can give a knowledgeable answer. Lot of mass transit now have charging ports (some even have free wi-fi) (which i wouldn't use). Are these charging ports a risk? Are they all connected and if someone is using a port in one part of the bus could they get access to my phone if charging on another port somewhere else on the bus? Or maybe even the bus company? Although i can't fathom a reason why they would want to access peoples phones. In general, I would think they would not be wired for data at all but i honestly don't know.
Rip fast charging
Who else remembers the micro usb cables that where charge or data only because the manufacturer didn't want to have to spend the extra two cents a cable so they could do both lol
just wait until he discovers the "Charging only" setting
Android has an option to use a plug for "just charging" and prompts you to allow or disallow access to data whenever you plug into something that isn't just a charger. Is this only recently getting a lot of press because iPhones keep getting hacked, or what?
Only allows power through….
Which is what 99% of cheap bargain bin cables do
You have to pay more for data transfer cables…
Had a cable chewed by my dog… Only reconnected the power and ground wire, that's the same as this
I guess we can just go gangbang bareback with our trusted chargers, right?
Or keep a powerbank
