Remote play, then exit to desktop, free remote desktop for your computer at home
If you plug in a controller and open steam, you can use that controller as your mouse throughout your PC.
Press and hold the PS4 controller icon and move the right joystick. R1 will be left lick, L1 for right click.
Also, you can use the left joystick to skip or go back a tracks for songs, up and below for volume. This also works in game, of course
The fact that we need this video just shows how garbage the steam platform is. ALL OF THIS SHOULD BE EASILY ACCESSABLE.

You guys get more and more click baity by the day.
My favorite feature is that you can hide your NSFW games in your library and get access to it in View section.
There's a section for beta testing for steam which you can try new upcoming features. (Steam will update it's overall design a little bit soon)
Adding nickname to friends so you won't lose them if they change their names is also a good feature.
Remote Play Together is another awesome feature – only host needs to buy a game and they can then stream it to friends, allowing them also to control your local running game. So far tried it out with Worms and Overcooked and it worked great, I love it since it's always a chore trying to convince others to buy a game which we then may play just once.

Multiple download locations. I have downloading to a magnetic hard drive as default. If loading takes too long, Steam has a tool to transfer it to another location. In my case, from magnetic to SSD for faster loading. I can transfer games back to magnetic if I don't play them often.
Still have a i7 6700k with a 980Ti. Want to buy a new system. The price difference between a 5800x3d and the 7800x3d is just 100$ here. For the whole system is a difference of 200-300$. Depends on what parts you need.
AM5 will also be more future proof.

Good timing, tho Steam desktop client UI has been improved massively in the beta build… So in a few weeks, a lot of the settings menu/etc would look a bit different 😛

man i wish i knew about the uncompressed screenshots before i played through cyberpunk.. i could've gotten way better looking screenshots.. oh welp, time for my 573rd playthrough of the game then!
besides that, the small mode thing is pretty convenient, i have used steam for about 8 years now and i never knew of such a thing existing since i've never bothered to look around the UI. pretty useful since i get distracted alot by the sheer amount of things that you're able to see in the library tab.. though steam input is pretty buggy for me.. probably because i have a DS4 controller (?) but i find it alot less of a hassle to use DS4Windows rather than relying on steam input.. don't know why, just doesn't like working together with me lel
See I'm old, I remember I installed steam off my counter strike source disk, and they didn't sell games. I've seen every one of these features been released. It must be nice for new gamers to see this though, steam isn't exactly clear in its UI of all of the features it has. I think my favourite, which isn't hidden though, but I need to give it credit… cloud saves. I know its obvious to the newer generation. But living in a time, where if my PC died I lost my saves. Then when cloud storage started to pop up, trying to get dropbox to sync my saves as a backup.
I now live in a world where me and my partner have a good gaming PC and a really old one, so depending on the game we want to play swap PCs.
The simplicity that never used to exist, to just resume playing on another computer it so helpful.

my steam is completely different from the one you guys use. Been a beta user for years. all these features are old by a few years now. there is another feature you may like that allows all Steam friends that play games with you while utilizing "Steam Networking" for allowing your friends to share IP for stable gaming. my steam also has furthermore features jampacked in my version 1683314987. there is more features for my XSX controller too. man i love Preview/beta teasting apps on my PC. my only issues with multiplayer with friends is the odd one or so may be using VPN that can really screw up the game causing buggy gameplay. i know i have recently stopped playing with others as they ruin the Steam networking feature.
One feature that may not be "hidden" but that I wasn't aware of for a long time is all the library filtering options – like genre, local multiplayer etc.
Hey tell Linux he owes me money from over 20 years ago and to make things even have him feature me on this main channel and fly me out to Canada and pay for my hotel and expenses. I could expose this money owing Linux anytime I want!
They need to make it so that family sharing allows the same library to be used by multiple people just not the same game. When my kids want to play one of the games I Purchased on my account for them on their pc, but I want to play something on mine. Oops sorry. They straight up get disconnected.

When your library gets too fat, hiding games in the steam library is convenient for games you're no longer interested in. Done by "right click -> manage -> hide game" Can be found again by going to "View tab -> Hidden games".

I would have said custom themes, but ever since upgrading to the new beta client, I can't seem to find the option anywhere now, leading me to believe it was removed wholesale.
With GameStream dead, Steam Link is a good alternative if you want to play just Steam games. But it doesn't support HDR unfortunately.
The best option currently for game streaming is using Sunshine and Moonlight.
