As far as I can see, SONY has made some progress in daytime shooting only. again not so good at night and HDR doesn't work well on videos

Did you use S Cinetone or HDR when shooting video? By default it's sdr
Look realistically, it's going to be hardly any different from the previous model, the battery will suck probably get too hot and the camera all that tech on paper look amazing but it's just not good enough to compete with others. I've lost interest in Sony for about 4 years and stayed away from them I never seem to be drawn to them anymore they can't can't it for me! It's a shame because I've always pushed Sony onto family and friends alot have gone and got one and they have had many problems with the last one being such a pain my friend paid off his contract and got the latest iPhone instead! It looks very nice the phone but once it's released give it 6 months alot of complaints will come out the wood work!

I love sony phone
I love Xperia phones. I’ve had the Z2, XZ Premium, and 1 II and I had such a good time using them. Unfortunately my hate for Google is stronger and until a 3rd player enters the game I have to stick with iOS

Just the price. It is one of the most beautiful phones out there. Every other phone looks like a Fortnite phone next to Xperia 1.
so wheres that new gen sensor technology in action? Doesnt seem to be improved vs the other phones if not slightly worse.
