šŸ“£Ā Head's up! I have VERY helpful light strip videos planned for 2023, so subscribe to this channel so you don't miss those.

  2. I love the little end scenes after each vid šŸ˜‚

  3. Yes. You should be very, very ashamed

  4. That was very informative I wasnā€™t aware about the diy aspect

  5. Which mobile app are you using with the Gledopto controller? I canā€™t seem to find one. You showed one being used in the video. I have mine connected through my 4th Gen. Echo that has Zigbee built in. But I was hoping to use a dedicated Gledopto app or similar app instead of Alexa. Thanks!!

  6. Reed, COB stands for ā€œchip on boardā€. It is a type of integrated circuit manufacturing process.

  7. iā€™m surprised that there isnā€™t more commets

  8. Any recommendation on diy vs pre-assembled (probably one strip on each parallel wall with one of those needing to be spliced because of a window) for under kitchen cabinets with a few gaps to bridge?

  9. Who hasnā€™t been in the same predicament as occurred in the outtro?

  10. LED diodes = light emitting diodes diodes haha. Great video btw wanted to get some for a while now.

  11. I got the Lenovo Smart LED Lightstrip, 5-meters, for about $13 in January.
Wish it was brighter, but it's really efficient. And reliable.
    Pretty happy with it.

  12. That looks incredible! Nice job! My most recent set of light strips, I went DIY, and yeah… my soldering still sucks. I felt like I needed the bigger gauge wire to cross a gap, but then I had a hell of a time soldering them to the strips. Even these crimp connectors I got to make it easier, still caused a lot of headaches.

  13. Just dropped in to say I always watch your uploads. A little hammy sometimes but still great šŸ˜‚ keep up the good work šŸ‘Š

  14. What if I told you there are WLED preflashed controllers that require no soldering and you can still pick the strip you want and pair it with a matching power supply

  15. Definitely want teh COB variant for what I'm planning to install, not a big fan of seeing LED's. DIY kind of speaks more to me, just getting a handle on the whole thing and problemsolving seems like fun. The biggest challenge so far, as you also say in the video, is just figuring out what the heck to buy. There's so much out there and it's not clear at all. Wiring DC stuff is a doddle, soldering is easy, but finding the right components to buy so it all works, that's tough. Especially since I'm also only now getting into the home automation bit for real, took one of my existing Raspberry PI's and slapped a Z-wave transceiver on it, but now I have to wrap my head around Z-wave, Zigbee and all that stuff as well. Still… it should be fun.

  16. Deym, those look so much better than expected

  17. I'm happy that this time you address the CRI score of the led strips. Cheers! šŸ™‚

  18. Thanks Reed.

  19. It looks like you installed them in the 10mm wide v channel diffuser. No issues with the strips being 12mm? Looked like the excess bent easily enough.

  20. I need a led strip that can go a long way on 1 or 2 power sources for Crown Molding. All the LEDs I see are outrageously priced, or they don't have full color and full whites for a responsible price

  21. Another great video, thank you again. I love how you explain both options so I can decide which is better for my application. Heading over to Reed's Smart Home to check out how to build my own light strip

  22. Awesome video, as always. Is there any way to set something similar to this up in Smartthings?
