Does anybody know what the best CPU to use is if you have an Nvidia 30 series card and want to get the best performance out of your resizable bar
DID YOU KNOW THAT X64 IS FROM AMD.
AT START, INTEL JUST HAS X86 CPU.
A pretty major downside to this tech is that it can, in my experience, decrease the total amount of available VRAM, by a not insignificant amount. My 8gb 3080 dropped from 8250 to 8030 in Doom Eternal, meaning I had to go for a lower quality texture pool, while also experiencing no performance gains whatsoever. Disabled BAR and boom, available VRAM back at 8250. I presume this has something to do with limitations on memory addressability, and if that's the case, that 200~mb VRAM is probably completely unused and idle with BAR enabled. Maybe it's a bug, but in any case I don't see a solid case for bothering with resizeable BAR at this point…

I activated ReBar on my 3080 and RDR2 performs worse. ugh
Intel has been using resizable bar on servers for like a decade maybe more with Nvidia….

Good video and great explanation on how the Bar works. I'll say this, though… with devices like the NUC pushing the size of motherboards down to dimensions like 4"x4", I really don't see where companies have a choice in the matter when it comes to developing features like this. Desktops will always stand apart from the rest, but mobile processing has been enjoying its day for a while now. Nvidia HAS to keep up.

I want to know, why the RTX2060 has Resizable BAR extended Capability, but only support 16MB BAR size (by using TeleScan PE into my PC)
– Resizable BAR Capability Register is 00000100h
– Resizable BAR Control Register is 0460h
