What are YOUR thoughts on Roborock's new Q Revo compared to their other options?
Check out the Q Revo at this link: https://bit.ly/discount-q-revo
And here's a link to the Roborock comparison tool: https://us.roborock.com/pages/robot-vacuum-cleaner-compare
Sounds great, but i can't imagine spending nearly 4 times what my wyze robot vacuum cost. It's not a great cleaning product, but it saves some labor, which i guess is enough for me. Anything good in the 500 dollar range?
That was your best after credit scene yet
Apparently it does have a mop washing feature. According to their website anyway.
Also to note – the new S7 Max Ultra doesnāt have the camera but does have self drying built into the base station, it seems like they were listening to user feedback. The naming conventions can certainly be confusing
Did you see Paul Hibberts latest video an the EzViz vac? It seems to be pretty good too, and cheaper than the flagships too
We love the roborock line up, we have the S7 Pro upstairs and the Q Revo downstairs
For 15 dollars i'd literally be stupid not to buy it. Even if I dont like it, I can just give it to my mom. ( Actually im just gonna buy me and my mom one)
The self-cleaning dock function is kind of disgusting. I maintain extra mopping pads so I can regularly swap them out and run them in a bleach cycle to limit mopping my floors with a dirty mop. I like that the q revo dock needs occasional cleaning because it is a good reminder to also swap out the mops with a more thoroughly cleaned spare.
Seems pretty identical to a dreametech l10s, which I have and love. I think they're both xiaomi so that makes sense. I don't feel like it's quite as good as s8 pro ultra, but for the price it was definitely trade offs I'd take
I wish someone would release a robot that supports communication locally, with no cloud required, that way we wouldn't have to worry about a camera built in and could have the best of both worlds. As it stands I believe roborock only allows local communication while it's connected to the cloud anyway, which violates the point.
The camera is the main reason I got the S6 MaxV and now upgraded to S7 MaxV… I have pets, and I use it to check on them.
I love those closing clips š¤£
Spinning mops being cleaned in the back when it charges looks like a big step up. They need to rework the flagships to have that, plus all the other cool stuff the flagships already have.
Just downgraded from the S7 MaxV Plus since it still got stuck on too many things for us. Got the S7 Plus on a recent eBay Refurb sale; can't recommend that sale enough.
Unfortunately, the regular S7 doesn't have routines, which are pretty key in automating the bin empty during a run.
Looking for workarounds, so looking at Google Home routines for it. Would love to hear more about the automations you touched on here. What i really need is a way to while loop and check when each room is done. Think that's possible?
Edit: also, how'd you get to the $500 less? Is that S8 msrp to q revo sale? Isn't it only like 300 (~700 vs ~1000)? Paid 440 in the eBay S7 sale so loving that price, but would like the auto mop maintenance.
I would love to see a āMatterā configuration for robot vacuum/mops. A built in station below the kitchen sink that will provide water and cycle dirty water so you never have to. Then all manufacturers just design a base that fits into that space for their vacuum. Make all vacuums fit under standard toe kicks and just standardize a few things. Like a wall outlet, you plug any robot vacuum in you want and itās like theyāre not even there. Just come and go from under the kitchen sink, hooked into the plumbing and electrical. Pure zero thought. Thatās the future Iām hoping for.
Great video! This looks just like the dreamebot I purchased, except at a lower price point and with the roborock brand name. I really like this feature set. Excited to see these robots keep improving!
I really like your videos, however I'm super concerned that all of these devices contact their home servers and we don't know what kind of data they are being sent. A lot if not all of the useful features you care about in the app are not available without an account and an active internet connection, limiting you to the simple spot clean features and manual activation. For me as well as many others, this is a deal breaker.
Like I mentioned before, I really like your videos and a lot of the things in my smart home are inspired from you. I think it would add a lot of value to your videos and channel if you also used and found devices that can be run locally/self-hosted, and made a point of mentioning that some of the devices you are showing will not work without an active internet connection and an account hosted somewhere in their cloud. My smart home is comprised of devices that run 100% locally, and I block internet access to the devices that do try to use cloud services despite not being needed.
I guess what I want is, please show more devices that don't require an active internet connection or yet another account to work, and please mention these concerns when you're showing a device that doesn't work any other way. Keep up the great work!
I am really surprised at how well it did in the mopping tests against the S8. Also, it does have one roller in comparison to the S8 but in many comparisons between the S8 and the S7 Maxv ultra, the one roller S7 Maxv Ultra did better on dry floors and sometimes even rugs than the S8 so until they refine the S8 to use the two rollers the way it's meant to, the two rollers may not be that big of a factor today. Finally, considering the price difference between the Q Revo and the S8, if you consider the discount coupon that you can purchase to reduce the price by $240, it's a no-brainer I will get the q Revo. Having to pull the dock plate to clean every once in awhile is not that big of a deal when you think of the price saving. That's just my take from your video.
I wouldnāt recommend any Roborock product. I bought the roborock ultra s7 max v based on your other video and it rode against all of my walls randomly even after mapping my house out causing black marks. Then it randomly would dieā¦ all within 6 months. Tech support is from China and they wouldnāt do anything about the black marks on my trim even after sending pictures, they repaired it from it randomly dying. Now it makes odd different sounds when emptying the dust/vacuum bin to the dock. So yeah, Iām never buying Roborock product again.
Can it handle high contrast (black/dark and white) patterened rugs, without triggering the IR cliff sensor?
Still don't trust the Chinese smart devices. Sounds like a ticking time bomb
Great job justify your sponsorship. You used to have better ethics.
Can you put soap for the mopping? If not, what's the point if it's not really clean?
What do you think of Tapo?
