Awesome Tips Google accidentally made the ULTIMATE Smart Home Dashboard!
The Pixel Tablet is a great smart home dashboard, but it took some work to figure it out.

I also tried out Google's new script editor for automations… thumbs up if you want to see a video on that!
At $499, this is about three times more expensive than the Fire 10" Tablet, so it better be a lot better! You pay for what you get!
do you have the yaml for your dashboard shared anywhere? 🙂
Does that auto turn on feature if fully kiosk browser also work between the HA dashboard and a picture frame mode?
Nice dashboard but now I am all equip with amazon echos for voice commands and everything works with SmartThings. I am not sure I want to go back to google… too many things was wrong and not working properly.
Home Assistant!!
I like your videos but my question is how is the security of that dashboard into the hacks world as google dashboard updating is credentials all the time as firewall is that dashboard the same let me know thanks
fully kiosk and the fire tablets work great , and they have that same motion detection . but i wouldnt use it for other stuff other than just a DASH HUB. its to slow for youtube watching , perfect for using multiple tablets only for the controls of the lights on each room its in. multiple HUBS would make u look like your in a sci-fi space ship movie 😊
Suggestion for door bell. Browser_mod 2, when someone is at the door it pops up the Camera feed. Secondly Wallpannel makes it into a picture frame…
This! The way Google teased it last year is that it's going to be better than the hub max. It turns out to be a regular ol' android tablet.
Love your videos. I was just wondering what WiFi router you have, because it seems like you have a TON of things on your network. I currently have 62 items, and if I try adding one more, it causes other things to disconnect. Currently have the TP Link AX50. Thanks in advance!
Can you please make videos following primeday and smart home deals you recommend getting a house soon closing on it and am in the process of building out a smart home collection
This is exactly what I wanted to see!
Thanks for showing that the Google Assistant still works with the dashboard displayed.
Is there a way for Hub mode to still display your Google Photo gallery until you walk up to it to launch the HA dashboard – maybe swipe away the photos and instead of going to the Hub home it launches the HA dashboard?
What doorbell do you have ?
With how fast tech changes, I didn't want a wall mounted display for my HA. This solves that. Thanks!
I just don't get why the separate dock isn't like a pro dock, being sold at more than 100 bucks, it could compete with a amazon echo dot 5. It could be a standalone speaker, have temp, humidity, presence and matter hub. This would just make it perfect.
Would this work with ring camera? Live feed automatically?
I would love to have that dashboard on my 3 existing Google Next Hubs. Not feeling like buying new hardware. 😬
Great video, though!
Thank you very much Reed! I have a very important question to ask you. I currently own a Nest Guard security system. This system will no longer be supported by Google next April. What should I do?
It is my understanding that it communicated on a proprietary signal (not zwave or zigbee). I believe all my sensors will be useless.
Watching your previous video on how Ring will charge to simply get notifications had me thinking. I liked how it communicated on zwave. Do all the sensors work with zwave and home assistant, or just the keypad and door sensors?
Also I like the fact that it could be monitored. Even if I used it out of the box as is and knowing it might be able to use as a stand alone system with HA, is much better than losing all the money I spent on the system like I soon will be with my Nest stuff.
Anyway. Could you please do a video on your top choices for Alarm systems, monitored and not, HA integrated if possible? It would be a great help for us Nest Guard users. Thanks
I really gotta get into Home Assistant. Love that dashboard. And upgrade my light switches to smart dimmer ones too. Great video as always!
Cool! 👍
First
So glad you are keeping the little gags at the end. Love them!
Funny how every tech youtubers think it’s meh, not that fast, like any android tablet these days. But you think it’s super fast. I guess Fire tablets must be really slow 😂
Google monitoring your activity, check.
Been hoping Apple would announce something like this.
Has it got a 'Where's my Tablet' feature?
Would this setup work on an Echo Show 15?
Does anyone ever use an old unused I pad home automation/ dashboards.
