HG Computers decided to go tall instead of wide with their NDT Extreme PC, and despite a few glaring issues it’s pretty cool. Ever wondered how small of a footprint you could fit a 4090 in without losing performance? Come check it out!

Amazing Products TV The Wave Power Tech Competing with Fossil Fuels

Comments

  1. Most important is which aircraft use this 'high grade specialised structural epoxy'? I don't want to get on that plane…… that could be the best consumer advice Linus has ever offered.

  2. COMPENSATOR 4???????????????

  3. Former Aerospace tech here….
"Aerospace grade" does not translate to quality. It translates to something like "rigorously tested to spesification"

So, if the spec is crap for your usecase, then it's going to be crap for that usecase.

  4. This is just the next step in slowly returning to the pc being your monitor stand

  5. Interesting concept, but the panel beeing glued on and not removable is kinda bad for maintenance^^

  6. It would be really cool to see this case have a wall mounting system similar to an Ikea floating shelf. That could look really sleek. Would absolutely love to see this case sold standalone. Amazing for an HTPC setup hidden behind the tv.

The side panel can be fixed by just using push pins similar to the NCase M1 or the NR200. If not a slot design like the O11 Mini. Anything but adhesive would be better lol

  7. I’d really like them to design this so you could lay it flat as well. Or offer a version made for that. Since the closed side doesn’t have any ventilation I would think that would just work. You could have a sort of soundbar/monitor riser pc case.

Also absolutely please do switch to screws or magnets for holding the sidepannel on. Glue is something I want to see as little as possible of in final products. It’s bad for repairability, recycling, reliability, everything pretty much. Magnets would look just as clean or screws would just do the job better if that’s to expensive to add.

  8. Glue (or more generally adhesives) can be insanely strong, many cars these days have significant portions of their body and frames held together with various adhesives instead of welds or fasteners, and these don't come undone even in crash tests.

Clearly this is not what happened here tho… =)

  9. 2:40 Неодимовые магниты были бы здесь очень к стати!

  10. to be 100% honest, id rather take OptimumTechs absolute ITX demon he just built.

  11. Cool concept but way too pricey for what it is.

Looks like we are actually on the way to finally move from the atx standard form with all those concepts right now (which would be a great idea if it's normalized)

  12. Looks like it can be engineered to be upgrade friendly but was not

displayport to hdmi don't work with VRR very well.

  13. they should flip the gpu orientation so the io outpu comes out the top

  14. I actually love this layout. I mean, what do you use the space above your computer for if you're building an ITX Desk PC anyway? Usually nothing. Why not go for a smaller desk footprint and make the PC taller? Or if its under your desk, you still don't need that space! This is actually much more efficient than other designs when you think about it…

  15. Structural adhesive from the aircraft industry , I wouldn't want to be on that flight .

  16. Time for NEODYME MAGNET POWER!

  17. I appreciate the fact that Linus mentioned that Aerospace Grade and don't really mean anything in much the same way that "Military Grade" and "Aircraft Quality" doesn't. They might have at some point, but they're just kind of pointless buzzwords now. I've fallen for them myself since my pc case is made from aircraft grade aluminum and I 3DS was supposedly made from "Gunmetal", so it does work as a marketing tactic, and the stuff that I have made of these things hasn't given me any problems and seems to be pretty sturdy, but still.

  18. what if … it was water cooled?

  19. Actually, if you've used the velcro tape, it would be better than the glue and still adhered to "aerospace"😂

  20. Why… Didn't they just use magents to attach the side panel instead of glue? Do they not intend for you to ever open it so that you can upgrade parts or do routine maintenance like cleaning the fans?

  21. Man even with the issues I'd buy this right now if they sold just the case rather than prebuilds. Id imagine anybody that wants this already has a PC

  22. the first thing that came up in my mind when I saw it was: Can I rack mount it?

  23. I would be too afraid of the thing falling over…

  24. Intel i9 13900, 34 cores and 32 threads? Hmm..

  25. Bungee cord bungee cord holding together just fine and you can take it apart anytime you want too lol

  26. Good design, but very prototype.

  27. your videos concepts are getting really boring

  28. Or they could just use Velcro as the adhesive!

  29. This is a really good example of a great idea that just needs some more QC, I'm rooring for them.

  30. The loctite lines on the white panel 😭😭😭

  31. Really cool concept.

    Piss poor execution.

  32. Man I LOVE the look of this case, imagine it with a nice wood finish on the side panel, would look tremendous!

  33. FYI hot glue takes 12 hours to fully harden…

  34. Glued components means anti-repair. Falling sidewall and other obvious quality issues shows negligence. I wouldn’t support either.

  35. With that case height, and thus potential surface area, they could probably make a passive version. Not with a 13900 and a 4090, but still 😛 It's a cool form factor!

  36. hot glue tip… instead of laying a thin line of hot glue down instead use globs in corners about the size of a nickel or if object is heavy like that side panel quarter size. Having a fire source on hand helps too like a butane torch to heat glue after its put where you need it.
