Awesome Tips Oxygen on Mars: The gold box that could let us breathe on the red planet

First it was the Ingenuity helicopter taking flight, now NASA has created the first oxygen on Mars, generating enough to sustain a Martian astronaut for 10 minutes. It’s thanks to an instrument called MOXIE, and it could be a game changer for terraforming the red planet.

  1. Thanks for watching! I have to say, I loved working on this video — it feels like so much attention was on the Perseverance landing and the Ingenuity flight, but MOXIE was such an amazing first on its own!

    Terraform Mars! Laughable. Pull yer heads in guys. Never/can't/won't happen. Lets sort out our catastrophic usage of this planet AND GET IT RIGHT first and foremost otherwise we aren't even going to last long enough to put a tent up on Mars. At present rate of insanity I'd give us 50 years max of viable life on this planet notwithstanding Putins and Jinpins.
    Worry about 6grams/hr oxygen creation (that leaks off the planet soon after) in some other millennium. That will be when we can go faster than the toy rockets we have now. I used to believe all the pie-in-the-sky crap when I was a kid 60 years ago and most of it never came true. You guys remind me of religious proselytizers. Dreamers all.

  2. creating new oxygen like earth it means they want to make human life for mars and for fun go to school or works and they can breath

  3. So…if you need a metric ton of oxygen for the astronauts and moxie can only make around 5 grams per day, you need around 600 moxies running for a year to create this, plus a huge tank, plus all the other infrastructure to create fuel, etc. Depressing, we will never go to Mars…

  4. Such a hostile environment with dust storms lasting for months no human equipment will survive the climate. Supply of life saving equipment in case of emergencies is very challenging as well. Populating Mars with human race might just be an imagination .

  5. hey lets worry about starving people on earth first

  6. If you add enough oxygen to Mars you will wake up a demon the co2 atmosphere is just containing it for now could be olympus mons if the cap is strong could blow the otherside its a death trap waiting to happen 100 percent 😉😇

  7. The air we breath is from God. He breathed in our body and we became alive. Yes, we can breath air on Mars.

  8. Venom suit anybody??????

  9. And maybe you gave the Slime mode neurons so it could act on its own and maybe replace the Mercury with some other type of liquid metal that you could put also the bacteria that makes a little vibrating dipole crystals and the the cable bacteria in it!!!!!¡¡¡¡!!!!

  10. I don't know just thinking out wild sounds cool though

  11. It would be really cool if you could genetically modify some Slime mode to be able to adapt to some kind of very small like like carbon or graffiti or something or nano particle particles or quantum dots and it could flow in a special type of murder!!!????!!!!!

  12. Instead of a traditional space spaceship could we make a biological spaceship that produced oxygen through some kind of membrane from is embrain from the atmosphere?????

  13. Cov19 coming from Mars this my question ???

  14. Congratulations

  15. Excitingg!! The human bean is so extremely smart! Unbelievable!!

  16. Why can't they just start planting vegetation since plants live off of carbon dioxide and produce oxygen?

  17. Why aren't we using this tech here on earth.

  18. Oh, now it makes sense why I can breathe in & out of my capri sun for a few seconds with a straw without the need for air straight away.

  19. Being this is gen 1 technology by gen 5 we should be golden

  20. Woo and soo many creators will be made there

  21. Remember everyone, watch this like you watch a cartoon. Without seriousness…. cmon now do your eyes work. This is not real….

  22. Is there any Boron on Mars?

  23. TRANSITIONAL METALS:
    Zinc = Mercury
    Copper = Gold
    Nickel = Platinum
    There is a very special TEMPER at 3500F for 100 hours with no oxygen that shatters shells around ATOMS that create 50 more atoms.
    In nature QUARTS melted covering metals absorbing shattered shells that created GARNETS / SAPPHIRES.

  24. Incorrect. It’ s now proven that martian atmosphere is not so much carbon dioxide. In fact if you remove the fake red background and you saw the real nasa photos – which is what Mars really looks like – in that environment you could breathe almost optimally on Mars…

  25. Is it not a good idea to genetecili modife bacteria, funges and lycos for the production of oxigen? Because there simpele life forms and not so demanding like trees.

  26. Very well done NASA.

  27. I've just copied this after a 'google' search: 'One  nearly 260 pounds of  each .' Has anybody looked into setting up a controlled environment for a small copse of trees/low bushes', that could be protected by a greenhouse-type membrane? Yes, tech difficult, but not so much maintenance required, possibly – certainly a really efficient 'converter' from CO2 to O2? Thanks for the vid!

  28. Thanks for Moxie which can make Oxygen from Carbon dioxide in Mars

  29. Amazing! Godspeed!

  30. Theres an abundance of oxygen in Antartica! No? No takers?? I know. Too bloody cold. Still, a lot warmer than Mars and you get to come back!

  31. Loved your video. Very informative but where is this planet called Maz?

  32. Algae. Heard of it?

  33. bruh matt Damon did this like 5 years ago
