I know when my 2014 MBP falls off the end of the supported by software cliff, i'm either going to have to deal with using the outdated software for the one major task I use it for, or ditch OSX and install Linux instead, the latter though would mean finding a replacement machine to run that software, or just replace the hardware to not need a laptop anymore (Standalone DJ Mixers) neither option is practically cheap, but I viscerally refuse to go back to windows for Live Performance software, it burned me too many times.

Shoppers for this arent comparing this machine to a self build machine. They need this for a workflow, its the reason you've used red cameras because you bought into their ecosystem. Theres companies that need reliable machines with reliable warranties. Its a pro machine, not consumer. Its a fair review but its not important since macOS just doesnt run on any other machine and their customers arent choosing between pc and mac but between macs. Its just cost of doing business.

Why? Why are people still buying Apple products? They're an overly expensive product, with shady marketing, horrible customer service, and unreasonable repair problems. F' apple.
I'm so tired of this, STOP complaining about Apple prices, the reason why they are marginally higher than the competition is because of the software reliability they provide. Plus benchmarks don't really mean much, real world performance is what matters, and the overall experience is much better on any Apple product. I would pick a 2013 macbook over a 3090 any day.
