Not sure how it is set up between your main and backup internets, but on Android for example, it will keep the connection alive as long as socmets are using it specifically. If you just set it to priority and wait an hour, the sockets should be sorted. Taking the same route only gets you to the router, so that would have to keep the sockets going to the right connection (if possible)

Documentation: Make sure to document which cables are patched into which ports on the patch panel. This will make future maintenance and troubleshooting much easier.

Proper Routing: Fiber optic cables should be routed properly to avoid sharp bends or twists that could damage the cable and degrade signal quality.
