Considering people are expected to upgrade every two years, Im hoping this will be a worth upgrade from my s22 ultra.
I want a thinner phone with a squared shape, I considered an iPhone mini but theyve discontinued the line. I considered the fold5 because of its shape and form factor. Everything else it comes with is a bonus, I just hope i dont physically see a significant drop in photo quality!

I feel fold phones are just gimmicky wow factor and not practical for daily use.
Interesting dilemma for me is that i bought my Fold 4 for $1000 and Samsung would give me $1000 to trade for the 5… So i could get a fold 5 for a net cost of $800 after having used a 4 for a year… Is my math wrong??
I LOVE my Z Fold 3. I film, edit and post for our Youtube/ Tiktok channel ALL from my Z fold 3 and the s pen is huge for productivity. Never going back to a traditional phone lol. With that said… going to upgrade to this bad boy!

So everything you brought up there hasn't been really any upgrades except for the hinge which this new hinge looks like it's going to be causing more problems in the old one think about it all it takes is like a little tiny Pebble to get in between the screens and you close it and it's gone and inner screen but it's the Android 14 that it's running on all those so-called improvements that you're talking about it's kind of interesting it wasn't the actual device except for the hinge it was the only thing they changed
I think I'll stick with my Note 9.

Hey Saf, Thank your for review, I would like to ask you to keep it up with more unbiased reviews without promoting a company start to be behind the others, shame on samsung nothing new 😢 but more expensive just to sell and to fool customers like it is something new… all the companies has better fold in term of specs right now… so samsung has to work hard like before to give something new. They are behind without serious upgrade since s20 ultra I would say.
In my opinion huawei mate x3 is the best fold now though it doesnt support 5g . Btw, why I dont see your reviews on huawei devices like before ..please back to review them and make comparisons with them .. they are still making good devices. I would love to see comparison from you with huawei and with xaomi.

I preordered the fold 5 cause it will be my first foldable and I think it's a more refined fold 4 so I think it'll be a great start for me.

I currently have both phones, Pixel fold and Fold 5. There's no denying that the cover screen of the Pixel is better than the Z fold, but the problem is that beside the cover screen, Pixel fold is bad, the main screen is trash, apps don't work properly, phone doesn't open flag, battery not great, no spen, no much multitask. If you could use all apps normally not even in tablet mod but just huge app I would still give the pixel but the issue is it makes the apps uglier and pointless, I would rather use it on the cover screen. Z Fold has small cover screen wich is not ideal but once you open that main camera you're using the best tablet in the world, power, multitask, apps are either optimized or Samsung forces their aspect ratio. It's also faster and doesn't get hot unlike Pixel. The pixel fold might be smooth but suddenly it force closes and acts weird.
Me personally, I would use an Iphone and Z fold. That's my daily phones. There are other great foldable phones specially in Chines companies but still Google and Apple and Samsung are ahead than anyone else both software and security.
this isn't a upgrade It's kind of disappointing it's just another fold 4 with a new name
