Why does it look like a cheese grater.
As always with Apple they sell you a machine that is looking like a Ferrari and cost like one, but inside it is more a VW Beetle… I don't say they are bad, but for what you normally would use it for, the prize is not worth it. Nowdays even a PC can do the same things and for less money.
Okay, I watched this video 3 times…
All those slots, and there is basically nothing to fill those slots with?? All the PC's I have built in the last 20 years, every slot is used. Can't fill a slot? Then I need a board with less expansion, or I need more cards for expansion. I pick a direction.

Apple devices always had ugly designs but this thing is hideous on a whole other level.

That’s when Apple fail at their plan to make M2 Extrême chip, they throw a lazy update on their pro customers.
May be it was the cheapest working solution, before they manage to make this giant chip real.
Or may be they will abandon the Mac Pro all together. Which is not a great news for the 2 percent pro customers who need the expansion slots.

Hypothetically speaking, if you installed Asahi linux on the M2 Mac Pro, would it be able to detect a graphics card and other pci devices?
What they basically have done is create another trash can Mac Pro but this time it’s even worse with more wasted space! The whole point of bringing back the case form factor was upgradability & expandability and now they have basically taken all those benefits away again. This really is a mess of a product, it’s like they did it purely to reinforce that they HAVE to move everything over to Apple Silicon.
at least the professional apple customers remain professional and still give apple whatever money they ask for no matter what.
