I used the ear tips from my xm3s on my xm4s since the tips just aren't as good for the newer ones. Seems like I'll have to do the same when I get the xm5s
The material of those tips is complete garbage, it degrades so fast in the previous model.
I have the Bose Quiet Comfort II’s and Sony XM4’s. I think the app features with the Sony brand are better but overall usage, controls, wearing comfort and noise cancellation the Bose are much better for me. The sound quality is a bit better on the Sonys imo. If the XM5’s have better, more comfortable fitment and improved noise cancellation rivaling the Bose I’d consider them with the better sound quality.
Well I'll see if I can resist not buying then for no apparent reason.

As iPhone user, i know that Sony is really good at noice Cancelation. But i purchased Airpods because Ecosystem..
Reminder that an update from Sony killed the battery on the XM4s and they refuse to acknowledge it. Be wary!

Look similar to XM4's, which I love (but I am intrigued by the XSM5's smaller size ).
AGREED on 1) Seal is key and 2) Provided buds do not seal, and I also switched them out with silicone buds from cheaper Sony headphones (of which I have tons).
WF-XM4 buds are good for travel, but if you want better sound quality, the over-the-ear WH-XM4's and WH-XM5's sound better and are more comfortable.
I love Sony.
I hope they fix call quality, x4 was the worst earbuds for call quality from my point of view

Samsung Buds 2 all day, not the best sounding, but a perfect no fall out fit in my ears.

You do not know how to use the ear tips. You have to squeeze them before you put them in your ears. They will then take the shape of your ears. They are the best ear tips. They are soundproof and are not so easily destroyable like the comply
Unfortunately whilst the tech might be good in my experience Sony headphones build quality is anything but and the customer service is non existent.
Seriously question, Why Sony always name their products with long difficult weird names like yxtt-69544789 instead of Sony X pro or something like that?

The XM4 tips are good for sound quality/sealing but they do not last long at all, hope MX5 has some improvements on the martial where it lasts longer… probs not.
I think Xm4 design feels more premium

they put way too much weight on my ear, very discomforting

Does the left chanel fail just after 12 months like the old model? My left bud lasts 5 to 10 minutes. I am not the only one who has this problem.

Never liked Speak to talk setting. I like to sing along occasionally and that does not work well for me. Rather just use the tap and hold for Ambient mode.

what do you think is better for absolute audio quality between these and the Beoplay EQ? I have the latter and they're still going strong so I was wondering whether this would be an upgrade or a downgrade.
Be nice if they had a usb dongle to plug into the PS5 since, ya know, Sony.

They seem pretty interesting. Although on a design standpoint I wish they had followed the WHXM5 with the all black or all off white design. Personally not a fan of the color accent on the grills.
