  1. I have a question for a what would be a good smart wall switch. Project for my kitchen, track lighting with RGB smart bulbs (I can't find any track heads with RGB function) so I found the bulbs. Looking at a few 3 & 4 light track light units. Anyway, I want to be able to turn on/off (maybe dim as well) from the wall switch, but still be able to turn on/off and color change from a smart phone app, Google Home/Alexa. A standard wall switch will kill power to the track lights and I won't be able to turn the lights on without turning on the wall switch… Advice?

    Nothing has been purchased yet.

For the track lights, I found there on Amazon: Avatar Controls 4 Pack Smart Bulb GU10, Alexa LED Light Bulbs Music Sync RGBCW Color Changing Dimmable WiFi Spot Lights Works with Google Home, Quick Connection

  2. Whats a best switch that can control both light and a fan with dimmer and speed control in one switch like treatlife, but the treatlife one goes crazy sometimes !! It flashes light when told to turn fan on !!

  3. too expensive. Does it work in Home Assistant?

  4. My home is older and I don’t believe it has a neutral.
And if I wanted to just have one smart light switch platform in my whole house would you recommend this Lutron system or some other system completely ?

  5. So just a quick question though if you wanted to put a three way switch in where there isn’t already a wired three switch you would still have to use a pico though correct? And they have not updated that correct?

  6. Hard to find stock of these – esp in Light Almond color. Also they should not have re-used the "Diva" name for these switches – so easy to confuse a "Diva Dimmer" posting which is a different switch that is not smart.

  7. Reed. So just wanted to let you know. You can set a scene via lutron app and you can set the lighting % to let say 1% ( so I have as ‘Good morning’ ) when you press the arrow up on your caseta it will activate the scene. And if you press regular ON it will go to the maximum brightness. I hope this helps.

  8. Dimmer switches can cause high EMF in your house.

I am changing from all the Kasa and zooz ones to Lutron, the fact that it is easily compatible with smart things and home kit

  9. 2 points: The first is that the physical 3way is important as some local codes DONT ALLOW (pico) non wired remotes (won't pass inspection/ 3 pole most be hard wired) The second is that they need to come out with ELV and MLV ASAP. hate having to spec different styles of dimmers in complex lighting situations

  10. I recently started fallowing you, my biggest question is what brand or model light bulbs you use with Lutron caseta.

  11. I did not buy Lutron no neutral dimmer switch because at the time it was not able to remember the last setting. I bought Leviton because it worked correctly and also has matching no neutral on/off option, not just dimmer. The brands look similar but the Leviton is also more affordable. If Lutron had this out earlier I would have bought it then realized they did not have a simple smart on/off no neutral offering to match it. I had Lutron non smart switches in my house and switched to Leviton smart devices for this reason. I loved my old Lutron dumb switches but I am also happy with my new Leviton's.

  12. Waiting for it to come in black now.

  13. That price is crazy! That is the only thing that will hold me back. Wow… $70

  14. Nobody will ever buy these at $70 per switch

Not sure I understand this correctly. So if I have a 3 way switch, I can replace just one of the two switches with this without messing around with the other switch. This is as expensive as the old caseta dimmer/pico set. I do like the convenient of a pico but don't want to mess with the wiring again.

  15. Very nice video. I am going to try one of these in my rental and see how it holds up. In the past renters would give a good hard fist to the paddle dimmers I had. Eventually they would crack or stop working. Very frustrating. But why not update if they can withstand the punishment.

  16. Can you confirm if this dimmer is going to be able to operate with matter or thread?

I am waiting. PATIENTLY. WAITING. for a version of the caseta switch that is fan+light. Maestro wen lutron?

  17. I'm using the Meross switches. I've been really impressed with their products 👍

  18. In Canada pricing is around $85 if you can find any any. That is crazy expensive; too bad.

  19. Are there any 3 gang 3 way dimmable smart switches?

  20. What is the minimum load spec? The typical problem with dimmers that don't have a neutral wire is that they require a higher minimum load for reliable operation. P.S. The National Electric Code (NEC) added a requirement in 2011 that all switch boxes have a neutral wire, even if they don't use it, because so many dimmers for energy efficient lighting need it. [To be pedantic — you don't have to have a neutral wire if you have direct access to above or below the switch box.]

  21. This makes me appreciate how great Instreon was. I've had all my lights on Insteon switches for over 15 years. Their functionality is amazing, but the reliability was not so good, but they always had good sales so I could stock up for cheap. Insteon also had the most complete product line – switches, dimmers, leak sensors, door sensors, motion sensors, relays, remotes, and a hand full of other helpful devices. I'm able to have my water main automatically turn off if a leak is detected or Alexa turn on or off my water main when I know I'll leaving the house for a long time. It's easy to program timers, my IR remote control can also control insteon devices.

I need to decide if I want to keep my Insteon going in the hope that they come back, or if I should switch to Lutron. Replacing all that stuff is a daunting task!

  22. Doe this work with hue bulbs?

  23. Is there an ELV version?

  24. Does the new version fix the automation issue?

Example setting the light to turn on to a certain brightness during specified times without that annoying delay?

Or does it still ramp to 100% then goes to the automation light level?

  25. That price is outrageous and not worth the money

  26. wish they had it for fan control. probably still use it for that but it's not ment for it

Can you still program a pico with this new dimmer? They should redesign the pico remote now too

  27. I sure wish I would’ve seen your video when it first came out. Over the last couple weeks I’ve replaced most of the switches in my home with the old style Casita dimmer. These are a little bit more money, but definitely would’ve been what I chose. Also, do you know if Lutron still makes an on/off switch that doesn’t need neutral? I have a neon sign that doesn’t work with their no neutral dimmer. Thanks.
