I would love for a tool like Everything to be implemented in Windows by default.
Simple thing Microsoft could do for 'Search' is put a radio button element or slider switch on top left/right of start menu/search which will be user selectable for local/online search. If the search didn't find the thing, on the bottom should be option for "search online…" if switch is selected to local search and vice versa. And the search should stay local or online until and unless user switches to otherwise.

If you have *ANYTHING* with a touch screen windows 11 is automatically awesome. Otherwise its pretty okay. If you have a 2 in 1 or something with a dedicated tablet experence? Windows 11 is almost necessary

Disagree. Windows 11 is completely giving the middle finger to desktop users (and really all users) by removing critical features like being able to set the position of your taskbar or the size, or having text next to icons, and instead adding useless embedded html crap that nobody cares about. 8 sucked, but honestly, compared to everything after 8… windows 8 is awesome!

Struggle of being an adult and having money and an amazing rig – but not enough time to play games. I also avoid games, especially online ones with a steep learning curve that are obviously huge time blackholes. When I was a teenager, I had time for that stuff, I LIVED FOR IT. Not anymore. The only games I would invest a lot of time into are ones that are very immersive and have huge replayability value like Skyrim and The Witcher 3. I have started Skyrim in 2019 and I'm still not done LOL, but the game world and the lore is interesting enough that I don't feel like I want to finish 'the story' either way. Hopefully I feel the same about The Witcher and CP2077.

I think Microsoft is going towards the Apple style UI experience of easy to use for anyone. I think the taskbar not moving or resizing is part of that experience. I personally have had to fix other people's taskbar mess up many times. They may have accidentally resized it or moved it then locked it or any other combination of foul ups. A average user just wants it to work as they intend so that sort of thing can frustrate a basic end user. I do think they can implement a multi step process that allows someone that want to move and resize it to be able to.
I simply have never used the touchscreen on my laptop, not once. I’m not against making it better for those who do, I just don’t know what everyone else is touching on their screen.
Just gotta say, Assassin's Creed Unity is a gem. I'd buy it now for $30

The right to make other people womit is essential for the human race. Without it we´re just walking monkeys flinging manure at the fields in exchange for cheap food.
How many laptops have touchscreens is irrelevant, if I don't use the touchscreen. It's a counter-feature for me actually.
Having a touch-friendly UI is great for tablets and laptops where users use their touchscreens a lot.
But it's not great for keyboard and mouse desktop use where I don't awkwardly move from mouse to screen.
Touch and mouse interfaces need different modes.
Is there a copy of the Full-Salt-Content script? Something tells me that would be absolutely amazing to read, not to mention endearing to the avatar of our elements : Anthony
How about they just have a check box in the search before I start searching that says (local only) or something then those of us wanting to search our pc only, can do that.
They said windows 10 would be the last windows and im just sick of having to switch to a new windows every so often and then re adjust to its shitty setup because they got us so used to one way and then they flip it around everytime. Windows did this to themselves by flip flopping so badly with every version. And most users really don't like things changing around especially with computers because you finally get your grandma or parents or hell your kids, to finally get used to using windows and then bam its all changed.

The biggest problem with microsloth is that they want consumers to want what they want you to want, not what the consumers actually want. Some people dont want all the bloat. Some people dont want to use all of microsloths garbage apps. A truly GOOD OS needs to be extremely customizable. Thats why so many of us creat custom OS images to install with.

Windows 7 was the high point of Windows. Downhill since then.
I did stop using the Windows search function, because it doesn't work. It never finds Folders or .exe Files or anything i want to find on my PC.
And since this is the ONLY Reason i would wanna use the search, it was no longer of any use to me.
Every time i tried to find something on my PC it was very frustrating.
I would NEVER use the Windows search for searching the internet, because i already have developed a habit of using my browser for that.
I think Microsoft just wanted to stuff their Search solution down my throat (Metaphorically speaking) and i really distest that. It pushes me away from the Windows search funtion instead of helping me.
I don't want this hobbled OS anywhere near my PCs. It's aimed at chromebook generation of computer illiterates.
