Amazing Products TV iOS 15 ruined my vacation! – Final review

Comments

  1. Really ? Lack of ewaste ? Doesn't explain why they can't sell you the chip fully unlocked to the max of its capabilities from the get go. Has nothing to do with ewaste. I'm sick and tired of seeing the environment being used as an after the fact copium excuse to justify terrible business practices.

  2. Good video, raise awareness to not get ripped on features they pay for that they are pay gated out of, and to not be perma consumers!!

  3. This is why i prefer Affinity Photo where is reasonable price and no subscription, before i used Zoner Photo Studio but they switched to subscription model som i switched. I really want to buy something and be able to use it without knife on my neck “if you don’t pay regularly we will take it away”. And i think with hardware it is even worse. If i buy a car, cpu, gpu, phone it is really not acceptable to require payment on regular basis just to be able to use hardware i already have bought. If company want only “rent” this device based on monthly payment than i will agree but only if they will care for all service and repairs for free (included in monthly payment).

  4. This is why I run as much analogue tech as possible, where I can. For example I have a For Meteor from 1982 and there is no computers, no sensors and no cameras. Not sure if it even has crumple zones, didn't need them at that point of time. Even your bank cards/accounts, they can turns that off at anytime(to keep your money safe for example, for the wealth of the country) and crypto is only good if computers work and people trust it….

My point is we are already in that dystopia and all "they" are doing now is turning the screw to drain us more, with wars, loss of jobs, never seen before inflation and collapsing economies It's time start collecting relics, mechanical and electrical, and learn how to operate and fix them. Even if it's only to appreciate it and to pass that knowledge to the next generation.

  5. I knew this would be about nVidia. My egghead neighbour was right, months ago! 50 or 60-series will be subscription based.

  6. This is the end of private property (except for the 1%) Wiuth every single item in your life leased. C'mon what did you think the IOT is all abount. Does a toaster really need to be "smart"? Oh even better not only will you own nothing you will not be able to loan an item to someone else because it won't work for them and you will probably get dinged for violating the TOC's and lose your leaf and have to repurchase it.

  7. That's why I'm super pick on not having Subscriptions I don't actively use, YouTube Premium is about it. Don't lease or rent unless it's for a something that will be one and done. They want us to be permanent consumers

  8. A counterargument for SaaS is that when really big companies buy once-off licenses, corporate and infrastructural inertia can make them never upgrade. And we end up with Excel 2003 and 2013 still running economies in 2023. It's a conundrum 😕

  9. There is a joke here somewhere? 2:25

  10. The only way that it makes sense to me is that software requires regular updates and development. We're paying for that privilege and not just a product that is put out and never built upon after release.

  11. I'm going to have to start to mod my car to unlock the heater that's literally already in the car. God we truly live in the worst timeline. I have already stopped all my subscriptions and pirate just about everything and buy everything used to prevent money going to the companies.

  12. I already boycot companies that sell software or hardware as a service only.

  13. Not really a fair comparison with the gaming and the professional cards. Certification and extra support or other software is a clear benefit. This doesn’t mean that the same consumer card should be throttled under the hardware specs. It should just mean that they don’t offer certain guarantees on the consumer cards.

  14. All of this corporate greed is making me want to work on a custom bulldozer project in the garage for a couple years

  15. The WiiU and Avatar reference was fire!! looool

  16. I don’t see a problem in this practice. The producer (Intel) is building the product. The customer is giving the ok with the purchase. There is no point in complaining. See DLC‘s for example or skins that can be purchased für 20$. The customers always get what they are willing to buy 😉

  17. I wonder who got the ATLA reference?

  18. GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK LINUS

  19. Glad you guys are back.

  20. 2:26 Too soon. KEKW 😂😂😂😂

  21. after what happened last week people still don't trust your results. 🤨

  22. GM, Intel and Tesla… none are examples of companies I like! Although I hate that I have so many intel processors. These practices are shady!

  23. I’m sure once we get Mitch Mconnel rebooted we’ll be able to get those consumer protections rolling just like Liz Warren always wanted.

  24. But in gaming this practice is acceptable

  25. Really like to see (or not see) any on screen error fixes hope to see this quality continue

  26. Very needed video.

I don't want to own a car capable of receiving over-the-air software updates and I will be taking no criticism for this completely correct stance.

  27. I agree. Especially in the automotive industry there is a clear trend towards this business models. And I fucking hate it. I will not buy such a car period. BMW is now also famous for their rent seat heating option.
But this whole thing has a plus side. They are spawning themself attackers left and right. Just imagine having a feature activated by paying a 1/3 because hey the hardware is their. There is a big risk here for them as hackers will find ways into the systems. High risk high reward. Just wait and witness.

  28. You missed Samsung's watch with features that only work if you have their phones.

  29. only benefit to this is them selling higher locked card / cpu at lower price, then it gets hacked and free upgrades for everyone. Which will then lead to price rises and be bad for everyone, we should reject this idea.

  30. They can’t do locked out hardware upgrades because we’d figure out how to unlock it free😂

  31. If a car has extra shlock that I have to shlep around with me, I want them to pay me warehousing of their equipment and transport costs.

Maybe now you are starting to realize why Linux use and development should be promoted and why ethical arguments also have their merit. You often complain about Microsoft or Nvidia doing evil things, yet your stance on them in practice has been very very soft, even amicable.

  32. It's more and more obvious with companies going that route that piracy is morally acceptable. If the continue this (we all know they will) it'll reach a point at which it's immoral not to pirate and jailbrake every chance you get

  33. LOL – do you buy a piece of paper to unlock the processor? 🤔😅🤨😕☹👎💸💸💸💸💸💸
    Aha ha haaa 🤣😂🤣
In Russia you can find an unlock solution on thematic forums and in videos for free 🤣😂🤣

  34. i would be surprised if Tesla owners could apply proper logic 😂😂

  35. PRIGOZHIN ALIVE IN NEW VIDEO
    You'll know nothing too.

  36. So basically tesla owners are marks.

Ugh. I absolutely hate this move toward "subscription." Reminds me of the "right to repair" issue…businesses are pushing a paradigm where their cash flow is assured for years, but this model typically screws over the consumer/client.

  37. I like the "unlock functionality later". I HATE the subscription model that companies seem to default to these days.

  38. Welp, guess I'm not getting another GM product, when my Trax finally gets too many miles on it! They can take their micro-transactions and stick it!

  39. I still think the additional Heater in Tesla is bad. If its cheaper to just built the heater in every car and charge the few people that need it 1k more, that means it costs maybe 100 per car (since they also want to make profit maybe even less) So just make the car this few percent more expensive. No one will complain, its part of the car and what you own the full car and not only parts of it. The thought just seems off. Before the digital age, imagine you buy a chair but the arm rest is a dlc so you are not allowed to touch it?

  40. This would have been a good time to talk about Framwork laptops! What is the plan to support upgrades on their products over it's lifetime?

  41. Lol the "nice51"

  42. That's because people have a weird cult worship for Elon.
