  1. Pretty baffling to see the 7800XT perform no better than the 6800XT.

Atleast AMD doesn’t steal prototype products 😂😂

  2. Love the new graphs! And the blinking dot is so helpful!

  3. People like to talk smack about the 4070, but that level of performance at 200W is impressive

  4. Much, MUCH better graphs now than ever before! Give a raise to your (supposedly) new graphics lead!

  5. The 7800 xt should have been named 7700 xt and the 7700xt should have been named 7600xt.

  6. If I was building a new rig today with a budget of 1,200-$1,400 I'm going 7800XT all day. Currently running my first AMD rig after being intel/nvidia for 12 years and have been pleasantly surprised. My 7700x/7900XT rig is an absolute beast at 3440×1440.

  7. You guys can't make coherent graphs even if your life depended on it, even though labs has umpteen qualified engineers on roll. Whenever graphs are made to compare data sets of different tests for the same points (in this case hardware), you FIX the axes and DO NOT MOVE the axes labels according to whatever order you want to show. Your engineers lack knowledge of even the basic concepts of creating visual representations.
Moreover, this video still has script errors. So, either your new quality control processes don't work as intended, or all of that was just big talk.

  8. Long time viewer first time commenter. Honestly great job with some of the changes. Graphs were way easier to see what Linus is comparing with the blinking dots. And I love pointing out the issues while addressing it is a launch day review and things can change. Definitely one of the most informative reviews I’ve seen in a long time from Ltt and reminds me why I started watching

  9. I didn't see it in other media outlets as well, what about the 6800 non-XT variant?

  10. I think the big thing I gotta appreciate is the willingness to use voiceovers instead of text correction this time around. Sure it'll sound a bit jarring hearing the less natural sound of the different microphones, but it really is way better to hear exactly what you wanna say. So far so good on the quality front. Best of luck keeping it there and going beyond.

  11. 90 dollars for a screw driver LMAO.

  12. I think I'll continue to pay for Nvidia's premium for drivers that just work.

  13. better to review GPUs after 1 month, when all driver issues are resolved, would save a lot of time for both viewers and yours.

  14. Fuckin top quality shit as usual!

  15. I can't wait for Steve to make an Oppenheimer esque epic criticizing your choice of using geometric mean rather than arithmetic mean

  16. Would be cool to see some results on compute performance with, for example, some python scripts using CUDA and openCL. Also for CPUs actually, where Intel is consciously hampering AMD performance via the MKL library. Like to see that get some attention too.

  17. LMG' production crew is phenomenal dude, their editing, and filming, and the Polish is just insane, (Linus is pretty sick too 🙂

  18. First video I've watched since the hiatus – maybe it's just placebo, but it seems like things were less rushed. Hopefully the LTT changes keep these quality improvements going forward!

  19. This reminds me of the 280/x and 380/x launch ….

  20. The worst thing about going PC gaming is watching these videos. Not to knock the actual video but as a consumer it's like "WTF do I do?" Do I upgrade? Can I justify the price?
I have a PS5 but I primarily game on PC. Every one of these type videos make me question every PC purchase I've made in the last year. I'm sticking with my 3080Ti. Hopefully until the 6080 or 9900XT or whatever these companies decide to call them.

  21. I have a 3080 Ti idk why I'm even watching this video

  22. This felt like a real review. Good job!

  23. A psu of 650 watts 80+ gold would be enough for the 7800 xt and I7 11700f?

  24. I like these new charts. Just the right amount of cards.

ok the week off is definitely paying dividends already. this is a much better review than the recent gpus, etc. love it

  25. 7800 xt is basically 6800xt but relaunched 💀

  26. It's not good enough. Even with nvidia, seeing a couple percent difference in an entire GENERATION? 6800xt vs 7800xt, I should be seeing a lot more performance increases. The value for me just isn't there. I'm still going to stick with my old 1080. QUIT PUTTING OUT SO MANY PRODUCTS IF THEY"RE ALL BASICALLY THE SAME. WHY SO MUCH WORK FOR NOTHING?

  27. I've got an EVGA 3070 FTW, so I'm guessing I'd be dumb to upgrade with the current offerings.

  28. The AMD weirdness is the "fine wine" effect. Also Im not a fan of ray traced shadows…I ran into the error handling bug. I loaded 1 mission after 16 hour of FLAWLESS Starfeild game play with no crashing or even lag and got one message saying my driver locked up when it didnt and now the game is constantly crashing like error handling kicked in overtime because it THINKS it saw a lock up.

  29. i miss the big R for Radeon in the middle of the fans

  30. Hey Linus Team. Glad to see you guys in the back in the swing of things. Hope you guys are doing well, keeping to the new content delivery schedule and QA processes. Glad to have you back!

  31. So let me say something… Around 2008 when I finally built my first ever PC, it was all AMD build and in various games I had similar fps as my friends from school… Yet they ALL had Nvidia cards and intel CPU… PhysX was also a thing for Nvidia users and it made me quite sad that AMD never had a single thing they came up with… Then I had Radeon R9 and FX 8590 (or something like that) and it was a good gaming rig… I was able to play all them games I wanted BUT again, people whom got Nvidia and intel builds had better experience, lower temps, less noise… And that was the point where I told myself that enough is enough and when upgrade time came, I changed the whole system for intel and Nvidia build… And since then I stayed with them… Now with Nvidia I can enjoy DLSS, DLAA, Raytracing, Pathtracing and everyone I talked to whom is playing similar games as me has Nvidia card… some have AMD CPU but rarely…

AMD has FSR yes, but FSR is trash and cannot be compared with DLSS not even a single bit… In Starfield we had to hack up a mod to enable DLSS and frame generation and my game on highest settings went from 40 fps to 80+ fps just thanks to this mod… Yet the game is missing alot of modern features thanks to AMD buying out exclusivity… AMD can be as cheap as they want, I would still paid like 500 bucks for 4070 than 100 bucks for RX 7800 XT… And the sole purpose is Raytracing, pathtracing, DLSS and DLAA and frame generation… Also since I work with AI once in a while, having my RTX 4060 helps quite a bit and its also blazing fast.

That being said, AMD is 4 generations behind, if they had a GPU in the same pricepoint like lets say RTX 4060 Ti where the card would had 60 fps on ultra with Raytracing and 100 without, then AMD would counteroffer a card for the same price but with Raytracing you would get 30 FPS and without you would get like 200, then yes, it would be worth it for some people… But AMD cards are not even worth for streaming PC cuz NVENC encoder is for Nvidia cards, AI workstations also nada cuz Nvidia is dominating AI learning stuff…

So there is no point to endorse AMD what so ever, Nvidia is in a clear lead, they can kick their price higher and higher and people will still go for Nvidia just cuz of features mentioned above… AMD is like for that second PC you have at home when you invite your friend over so you two could play games together in one room but you want him to get less FPS and less stability in games to dominate him in 1v1 matches… But to be honest, I would not give an AMD card even to my worst enemy… Even intel is ahead of AMD cuz of AV2…

  32. LOVE to see that it wouldnt have been a whise choice to get rid of my 6800 xt <3 it is still a superior card 😁 my loved behemoth 😁 rx6800 xt red devil.

  33. $400 for a card that can handle RTX easily with NVIDIA meanwhile you need to spend $800+ for an AMD card that can ray trace at the same level as NVIDIA. 😂😂😂😂
and my god that productivity benchmark is just hilarious.

18:00 4060 Ti (8GB) is not as bad as you saw. I don't know what the hell you did to your card, mine runs extremely well and better than a 3070.

  34. "is fsr 3 coming? we cant answer that just yet"
uhm yes? yes it IS coming and yes it has an announced date and YES you could have easily checked this up by websearching

  35. Linus is trying 2 sound all 'super detailed' like Gamers Nexus channel instead of making the boring stuff he rattles off in his hurried monotone sound interesting & fun by trimming it down & sticking 2 the top important points.

  36. Does anyone know why they're using the Geometric mean instead of arithmetic mean for the fps?

  37. Except, they did give us a wedgie and they did spit in our faces. They gave us basically zero generational improvement.

  38. I'm curious why you choose to use geometric mean for fps numbers. Wouldn't arithmetic mean be more appropriate since the numbers you're measuring tend to fall in a similar scale and have no exponential component to them?

  39. Is it just me or was his statement about not having all of the data because this is the "first post hiatus review". Makes me think Linus (or the writer) completely missed the message about making better videos instead of just making more videos.

  40. I love seeing the proper voice overs for messups and redone graphs and little details, this video is considerably more quality than what you guys have done previously for quality. Really nice to see, hope you guys can hold it up!

  41. Indicators as to what is being referred to on the chart, a proper voice over correction rather than a 2 second text overlay, higher accuracy/quality, and all I have to accept is a slower pace of content? SHUT UP SND TAKE MY MONEY. Super glad at these changes, folks! Glad I’m a floatplane subscriber.

  42. imagine if linus started making pcs so we had the "ltt rtx 4090" gpu
