Had mine about a year and it's pretty much the only device I game on now – my 3070 rig just gets used when I WFH. I love the fact I can play almost anything in bed, on the sofa when the wife watches TV, or when I'm away for work. One thing that often gets overlooked is the fact you can also stream games from your gaming pc to the Deck with minimal latency.
could you recommend a $1500 gaming pc pls?
No, I want my 600 quid back please 😢😅
Idk why portable gaming systems don't do interchangeable like power tools ( I'm a heavy equipment mechanic) if my impact gun is low on battery I just slide a new battery in. If I take longer flights with my gaming system, I would want to have more rechargeable replacement batteries for it. I use milwaukee tools and love it. I know certain tools drain power faster like drilling. If I want to play a harder to run game I would look at it like that. I would just need to have more batteries.
Been playing baldur’s gate 3 on it while living overseas and it’s GREAT!!!!
And…….Valve have added VRR. Steam OS3.5 has it.
I'm from a steam deck household, with a friend circle dominated by the steam deck.
Aside from my drinking buddies and parents, pretty much everyone I interact with has a steam deck. Even my coworkers!
That says enough I think. It's a bit janky on edge use cases, but generally it's a rock solid experience.
Steam deck is the best handheld pc style console, don’t bother with the ROG ally it’s a mess and windows doesn’t make it any better.
i can't wait to get a Steam Deck
My kids took my Switch so I got a SteamDeck. It’s pretty perfect if you want to play PC games occasionally, but don’t want to make a big investment and don’t have space for a bigger gaming setup (even getting a gaming laptop seems like overkill for my usage).
AS AN OWNER OF 3 STEAMDECKS I SAY ITS WORTH IT AND NO I DONT NEED 3 BUT AT THE PRICE ESPECIALLY ON SALE ITS A NO BRAINER TO HAVE POWERFUL SMALL PCS IN EVERY ROOM OF THE HOUSE ❤😂😅
Weird, I thought the Steam deck was the most comfortable handheld I have ever used and much more comfortable and ergonomic in the hands than the rog ally.
I bought the top model, got it May of 2022. I've MAYBE gamed 4 hours on it. Over 1000 games in my Steam Library and I just don't find anything I want to play on the format at the opportunities where playing on it versus my PS5 or PC, I usually end up playing something in those times on my Switch.
thing is wicked.
That thing is like a totally handicapped Runescaper. lol.
I love my Steam Deck for Emulation!
Perfect timing dude, great videos
I own a steam deck and a ps5 and I would say the steam deck has been totally worth it. Have the 512gb version with 1tb ssd. Definitely can work around a lot of games. Have been able to play Elden ring, cyberpunk, ff7, and other titles on it natively (some titles needed workarounds but still worth it). It’s cool to have the ability to use various launchers, emu deck, and install windows to have more access to games, chiaki to connect to my ps5, and install gamepass and other streaming media on a handheld is dope! The biggest thing for me is the steam community and support. Having plugins and ability to customize your experience in steam OS makes this device fun to use. Definitely recommend it.
steam & deck
Agreed
Awesome video as always!! And by chance have you done any video on power surge protectors? I would be a good idea for a video since a lot of people live close to lighting and thunder storm areas. Thank you!!
I waiting for the Legion Go.
Almost all my fav pc games are shooters and I kinda suck at controller aim. I'm waiting on the Legion go to see if the fps mode might be closer to using a mouse. Thats the only reason I've held off handhelds in particular.
Plenty of games that aren't officially steam verified play perfectly well on deck. Sure some don't work at all and you may have to tinker a bit to get things working right but the "Unsupported" label is hardly definitive.
How do you lift it though? Do you get your gf to help?
I’ve had my steam deck for a year as well and love the thing.
Another awesome video!!!!
one of the best purchase ive ever made!!!!
I sold mine and got a ps5 but I really look forward to the Steam Deck 2 if it happens
Great vid as always. Are you able to advise what battery bank you have/or recommend one. Off on holiday in a few weeks, definitely want to take some extra power for the flight!
Absolutely worth every penny, if you want XGP just grab an SD card and install windows on it, I have no problem playing XGP games. It’s a remarkable handheld console!
I would never play AAA games on the deck. Its a perfect fit for indie games and emulation. Battery life is no issue on those types of games. Often netting you 4-6 hours. More around 6 hours if you have Decky installed and lower the amount of cores needed for most titles.
I got a Lenovo LOQ 15IRH8 gaming laptop instead. It's still pretty portable. I can have the laptop, controller, mouse, plug and mouse pad all in my backpack without it being too heavy. And I have a built in keyboard with a much bigger screen.
The screen is too small, 8.4"+ gives HUDs room to breathe
My tip as an owner of 2 Steam Decks. Go for the cheaper models. You can upgrade the SSD for cheap and it does not void the warranty or anything.
If you are into this channel then you can probably handle upgrading it with the right screwdriver for the job. Also, I find that the anti-glare screen on the 512gb model makes the screen look noticeably less sharp than the other models and doesnt really do much.
