Go back to real leather. It's quite sustainable since we aren't running out of cows anytime soon and it holds up.
I went to the Apple shop with the view to purchasing a woven case for my 15PM, they were looking scratched and not very good even on the Apple Store display,,,,I purchased a Mous leather case offering instead and very happy with it. As for the over heating I haven't had any issues but I don't really push my phone to hard.

I don't care about their "mother earth" banter when it comes to leather. Making all these recycled materials also make the same amount of CO2 or probably even more.
