Not sure why this is so buzzworthy. Google sucks at keeping their promises about Android, and in general. They might be better than other manufacturers on their ecosystem, but Apple has been doing long update support for a while now. Google is late to the party and using the promise as marketing material to try and sell more phones, which is questionable.

The swedish price of the pixel 8 pro is almost 1300 USD compared to the launch price of the 7 pro at 900 USD. Im not seeing 400 USD of more value here. Especially since some features aren't even available in Europe. We pay more but get less. Another thing that pisses me of about this is Google's offer that if you pre order you will get their new watch "for free". A clock that costs slightly more than 400 USD… Anyone falling for them giving it away should be locked up. How about lowering the price instead? Was about to switch to pixel but this changed my mind.
