Just double checking cause I'm a bit confused on the wording in the article I found; is the disc drive for the disc edition of the PS5 Slim detatchable too, or is it just the digital edition that has that feature? Like is the Slim's disc drive built in and can't be taken out like the launch version?
So basically they made it look worse and increased the price. Guess I’ll wait for PS6

Normal ps5 always going to be sitting on the table and you won't be carrying it around like potortable device. Does not really make sense to build a Silm version. I know everyone will say " it's smaller, lighter and you can fit it in to smaller spaces". you don't put it in the wardrobe😂

I was hoping for a completely new look. The ps4 and ps4 slim look different. Same with every other slim model.
Slim? That's just like saying a 400lb person is slim just cause they drop down to 360lb.
What a theft. Bit smaller, more expensive, worse materials and the base doesnt even come with the console. I would NEVER EVER buy the slim model.
PS5 Slim also has a smaller 5nm chipset. That makes the PS5 Slim more power efficent
I'm in the minority apparently, but:
A. I love both PS5 designs, with the digital ones being the nicer of the 2.
B. Getting the slim is a bad deal now, regardless of the (IMHO) relatively fair price jump (more storage, more ports, modularity). Sony is pushing people towards the disc version, and monetizing bad planners (that get the drive later).
C. Hopefully, we can REMOVE the disc drive off the regular and turn it into a digital one, using only the disc as needed (seems easy to pop on/off). I find this fantastic.
D. Love the smaller size. In my entertainment center, every inch counts.

Well, it's more ps5 now, so good for abundance I guess. I'm still using my base PS4 anyway.

A NEW DIGITAL EDITION (With a Detachable disc drive installed by us, SONY)
Or Buy A NEW DIGITAL EDITION without it, and install it yo damn self later!

My Grandson, whined and whined to get a Play Station 5 at cost of $1,200 AUD and he saved like crazy and bought it and has played with it for about 3 days and it now is in a box gathering dust….just like I told him and his Father it would be. They are simply JUNK !!! Now they have a new one out. No thanks you keep your rubbish Sony.
Save your money and just wait for Pro,if there is one. You lose money reselling original PS5. You will be spending more with buying the slim.
