The 14900k at Intel stock power levels to match the 13900k actually runs several degrees cooler. Which gives it the ability to boost to 6ghz and yet have the same base 125w tdp as the 13900k. So its all to be expected from a refresh.

Great video. I've recently upgraded to the same FSP 1kW PSU…. 😅Older FSP Hydro G 650W worked fine, but I'm thinking about GPU upgrade to an 4080 or RX 7900XTX.
The new cpu isn’t anything exciting. Intel dropped it to buy time and secure shareholders until they are ready to drop something better than 13 series.

I've had 32GB of memory since i7 9700K and running games at 4K. Games have just barely started to use half that. I think you'll be fine with 32 GB for at least the next 4 years.

If Apple has usb C as standard now if any pc cases don't have it they're not worth your time or money.
When buying ram it really does matter to consider what you're using your computer for. If you're just gaming it depends on what resolution you game in like 1440p to 4k in some games almost uses 32gigs of system memory so also depending on the game or games you will play it might actually make sense to get 64gigs of ram. If you do video editing, blender renders and all that 64gigs would probably be standard?

How much difference would the 7900xtx with that and the 78003D make? I like intel CPUS, but want the 7900xtx… and i like the idea of going from my 4790k to the 14900k!

I've just bought a second hand RTX 4090 GPU and It's pretty fast! I'm now bottle necked by my i7 9700k…always been Intel, Is this the time to jump ship I wonder?
My 13900k scores 39,975 in cinebench r23 multi core test. Excited to get my 14900k to see what i can get out of it
One would think that the Radiators and Graphic Cards would let you know what Cases work and which one's don't.
Please don't buy into any intel platform right now….for the love of god don't. They get beat on almost every metric at the same time.
Bit of a strange cpu/gpu combo for a "gaming" pc. If someone was ignorant and rich enough to spend the extra money for the 14900K, they likely wouldn't shy away from pairing it with a GTX 4090.

Hey Marcus! Question for you. In 2021 I built my first Gaming PC based off one of your videos, essentially I have a Tomahawk max II motherboard, ryzen 5 cpu and a 2060 GPU. It does what I want to and more right now but the most intensive game I play I would say right now is no mans sky. The question i have is, is it worth upgrading soon or would I be good for a while because I know games are becoming more and more demanding of hardware each year. Should I be good for the foreseeable future with what I have?
Never understood how PC building youtubers dont check case sizes in relation to the parts they use before just hooking in to a build like this, especially using such high end parts and then a crappy little case.
