I've been an Apple user for many years working in top apple machines, but yesterday the Apple event was bizarre:
the guy had the courage to say that the new model is blahblablablah X faster than a dated version.
following this reasoning:
the M3pro is 5000x faster than the apple Elisa and 1000x than the iMac G3 – fact: there wasn't much of a performance gain and they sold RayTrace as if it were new, a fact: even on the top iMac Pro – 3D software is in its infancy… I would like to see tests using 3d software such as Twinmotion, SketchUp+Vray or Blender in the same project simultaneously with PC machines i9 with same Ram memory and Nvidia 4090: and oh yes – these events would be real, because what I see is juggling traffic lights and visual triggers for sales only. – scare prices! only!
Apple held a virtual event on October 30, 2023, which was dubbed “Scary Fast”
The event was focused on the launch of new Mac models. Apple announced the launch of up to four new M3 Macs with a release date of November 8 .
The new MacBook Pro M3 Pro is expected to be “scary fast” . The new iMac is expected to feature a larger display and improved performance .
Might we see some Halloween colour themes (and the end of some slow selling imac colour choices to offset). Return of the Black iMac and Black Macbook. AI acceleration in the M3 and future silicon – -perhaps dedicated AI GPU as we see from Apple Titan. Halloween themes in some MacOS updates (and for iOS as a nice bonus). 4K camera for video conferencing (tied to Apples competitive alternatives).
I'm calling it – Apples Scary Fast event will be the announcement of worldwide F1 rights and they will include Apple vision in the streaming offering…. F1 watches and bands won't be far behind… Apple headphones will be the official F1 headphone..
I think they might include Vision Pro

I am hoping for a Sc”AI”ry Mac Finder that can summarize, sort, and curate files using AI generated keywords. I am ready for an Apple-AI called “Sara”[Siri’s sister] or “Newt”[Newton’s grandson], to join “Copilot-AI” and ”Bart.”

While I'm excited for a new looking iMac with the M3, I don't like the Mac OS. The menu bar for closing an app is annoying. Having to change settings so an app minimizes to it's icon like windows is annoying. The default is to the side when minimized. It's also annoying not having the dock take the entire left to right side of screen ending. Menu bar is annoying as in windows every application has it's own settings on top of itself or in a side bar instead, much easier. I absolutely hate that mac os doesn't have window snapping to top full screen, side left half right half, and corners by default, only windows does by default. No directX for games. No .exe extensions for files. Right click is enabled by default in windows, but in Mac OS, no, you have to enable it in settings, how annoying. Mac OS requires a cell phone text to begin your first log in on a brand new Mac, Windows doesn't! Clicking X actually closes an app on Windows. File explorer in windows already has movies, music, and pictures. Mac OS finder doesn't and you have to enable them there by clicking in the menu bar finder settings. Having to change all of these settings in Mac OS is rather annoying while in windows they all are already there by default. Therefore Mac OS is rather annoying. Windows is easier to use an requires less set up time. Reasons why Windows is better.

I just bought the m2 pro 4 months ago…..
The announcement will be primarily the iMac as it celebrated an anniversary without much excitement. Expect a 24" iMac M3 model in four softer colors only; and the big announcement will be the iMac Pro with M3 Pro, Max + Ultra chips – it will be Black and it will be 32". Otherwise, perhaps they will squeeze one laptop in as well.
