  4. Aa the final death of The Escapist. I must admit I stopped watching around 2014 to 2016, when 95 % of the excellent content left. I was surprised when Yahtzee stayed in 2017.

1:00:00 Linus doesn't understand that everyone is paid hourly these days, if you can work slow and be paid the same as fast working person why bother?

  5. 1:31:30 I would have loved to see a O.K., Yes/No or Cancel button on those.

  6. surely LTT could have a member of staff do timestamps?

  7. You talked an hour about some youtube outlet and then you complain that you have too many topics?

  8. LTT, you need to realize how timestamps are important. I cannot watch without timestamps, so I will check back later. Just pay the timestamp guy.

  10. dont know how to unzip… maybe they only grew up with buttons

  11. Intel's naming scheme change infuriates me because Intel pretty much had the longest-standing consistent naming scheme in the industry, allowing most people to make sense of it. Did they sell something as i5 what actually should have been an i3? Probably. Nonetheless, it was a really useful and mostly non-bullshitty way of naming the lineup of Intel consumer CPUs.

  12. I gave up on the Escapist after what they did to Extra Credits.

EC ran a crowdfunding campaign to pay for their artists shoulder surgery so she could continue to work with them after an injury. Given the size and quality of their community, they blasted through the goal of $20k and reached $104k. Now they had this large amount of money with no obligation to use it in a certain way so they decided to set up an independent game publisher. I remember this because it's the first campaign I ever donated to.

At the same time, the Escapist was behind on their payments EC. The shows creators, Dan and James, offered to have some of the debt be forgiven in exchange for the rights to their IP back. The response they got was a claim that 75% of the crowdfunded money belonged to the Escapist and that, after deducting the debt, EC owed the Escapist $10k. Total bullshit. Lawyers sorted it out and EC left the Escapist and moved to Penny Arcade who gladly had them.
The only reason they had the crowdfunding in the first place was that the Escapist was so far behind on payments that would have been used on Alison's (the artists) surgery.

Sufficed to say, this news is entirely unsurprising given their behaviour 12 years ago.

  13. "The only thing I cared about from them was Zero Punctuation"
