  1. So my GPU just ran out of warranty, is a repaste + adding this stuff over thermal pads recommended or not?

  2. Remember when the LTT crew was breaking off parts from a 2000$ GPU pretending they can disassamble and assemble a gpu just to proof the product they are trying to sell isnt better than the cheap stock solution?

  3. Thats exactly the thing with laptops, adding some better conductive on vrm will help you to dissipate extra heat from vrm, yeah, but it will heat up the heat pipes way more than it was with less conductive compound amd you will and up with higher temps on your gpu and cpu and performance drop.

  4. 5:52 I thought your ear was bleeding 😂😂

You should do an updated tests with putties especially now that new putty formulas has come out with better thermal conductivity and not as messy as the k5 pro, putties nowadays almost gas the same consistency of dry playdough and not as oily as old putty formulas.

  5. I enjoy this guy

you know using heatsink at the other side still good idea bacause heat always go upside

  6. This guy is so much less annoying than Linus

  7. hello, I have a Lenovo legion 5 3070 laptop, liquid metal temperature cpu, super GPU, also ok, only that the hot spot is tragic because as much as 105 degrees, it seems to me that thermocouples are missing somewhere, how do you think k5 pro will solve the problem,

  8. are you kidding? I don't give a damn about fps, I wanted to know the temperature on the memory

  9. These guys really have no clue what they're doing eh?

  10. Guys please don't use this stuff. Any gap larger than 0.75mm is not suitable and the K5 squeezes out of the edges creating air gaps and hot spots. Plus, the downside of it ruining any board you put it on because it's so hard to clean off outweighs any potential upsides of using this over thermal pads of regular thermal putty. It's just not a good product and using it incorrectly can fry your components. It has happened with K5 pro. It's all over reddit.

  11. isnt K5 just for the Vrams not the CPU GPU itself? i heard ppl combine it with honeywell

  12. never use k5 wait till you want to repaste

And this is exactly why I DO NOT TRUST LTT anymore. K5 pro is one of the worst thermal putties out there, even random chinese made putties available on a well known chinese website outperform K5 pro by a long shot.

  13. Used this on my HP laptop. Horrible performance! Worse than the 2 year old stock thermal pads, gonna be hell to clean up

  14. I just a tub to a Powercolor RX 6900 XT liquid devil and an MSI RX 5700 XT gaming x. I hope it works out for both.

  15. Scam, dangerous in the long time

I started using TG-PP10-1000 thermal putty during the mining boom. It’s just like K5 Pro but it’s way better. It’s efficiency is double at 10w/mk. It’s a giant tub but I transfer it into a large syringe for super easy application.

  16. What a stupid article, this paste/putty is to replace thermal pads.
    Damm

  17. is it safe to coat the processor with that paste too or not? What do you think? recommendation?

  18. Is this thermal compound almost what Asus uses on their laptop VRAM modules ?

  19. I put this stuff on consoles and laptops instead of the thermal pads, makes a big difference imo

  20. Not hard to take apart, you just don't have experience.

  21. I am not understanding your point of view at all that what a Cooling paste have to do with more fps, instead it should first help in reducing thermals at same performance level, keeping components cooler helps in sustaining performance for longer duration.

Tempted to rip apart my 4090 and reapply TIM. Haven't quite decided on what to use yet..

  22. thig is, why wouldnt you use thermal paste at this point? i supouse thermal paste its worse with less pressure than this? then i wonder why dount use this instead of thermal paste, but i guess when enough pressure is aplied thermal paste its better

  23. Alex is one of my favorite host along with Anthony and Riley.

  24. Little did Alex know how much trauma this gunk would cause his boss down the line (or maybe he did idk)

  25. Try taking apart an HP Pavilion dv4 (or any dv variant, I imagine). It takes "Now we just have to put it all back together and hope that it works" to a whole new level lol. Compartments and ribbons and screws and components everywhere. All of which need to be removed in order to get to the heatsink. I have mine in the other room in pieces atm. Took 2-3 hours to get there. Now I THINK I need a new power jack cable and figure out the thermal pad thickness in order to repair it… And hope that fixes it lol. It looks pretty well toasted. But a fun little project for me.

Repairing the screen is a whole other can of worms. Either needs a flex cable and/or a video inverter board… and/or a whole new screen assembly.

  26. I used this on my 2080ti over 2 years ago still really good memory temps

  27. The title itself is stupid and earned you a Dislike

  28. TLDR, its a 2ish% improvement even on new devices, great for VRMs, just dunno how youd remove this on devices you might want to return

  29. I am looking to refresh thermals on PS4 , was hoping K5Pro would do the job and i like what i see here in this video . Still looks messy .

  30. this paste is for laptop not for pc or gpu. because laptops heatsink is not so precise u cannot use pad or paste.

  31. What were the temps?

  32. Everyone knows the RGB's make it go faster

    😏😏

  33. How about you fill in the micro gaps first, using a soft thermal paste (scraping excess off with straight edge leaving a thin film) on both surfaces and then use high end pads ?

  34. What about K5 vs "high end" thermal pads ?
