For AI, video and rendering workloads, GPUs are far superior. For VMs in a data center, EPYC is the way to go. So what is this good for?

Feels weird to say yes folks! that's right this thread ripper chip beats intel's best ( 550 retail ) and it will only cost you 5000 for for only twice the performance. If I came into a YouTube video like yes boiiis this 4090 absolutely shreds the 4060 and its only 1900 pounds id be ridiculed so why is it a fair comparison to pit a i9 vs a threadripper. Amd has high end consumer cpus why not compare against that or even a xeon . Seems like so weird stretching to make it seem more exciting.

I'm thoroughly impressed with AMD's threading prowess here, really ripping those threads! Love how they're still pushing the high-end even in this class of CPUs. Besides, as you said, time equals money, so those extra threads could be a lifesaver. And being an AMD fan, these prices still feel like a justifiable investment. Can't wait to see how the landscape changes when Intel brings their mojo back.

IMO it’s should be LEDT for the i3’s and Pie’s of the world, GEDT (Gaming end desktop) for the rest and then HEDT for Threadripper.

This seems like a sever dor desktop, and i would say in corporate world i mean they will buy it all and will be really happy about them. will they cost 10k yes, can they do their work like 20% faster, yes ! first investment will be alot but time will come down and it will pay itself like in 6 months and they will use it fgor the next 3 – 4 years and they will be really happy. so yes i think this product will have a place in the market, just not a private place but in corporate workspaces. But as we know all the good things will tricle down at some point so it is a good thing.
The problem with LEDT is that even with X670E it's easy to run out of PCIe lanes. Also we don't have a mobo that offers 2 PCIe lanes that run in x16/x16 mode alongside PCIe storage. But why you'd need such motherboard? Maybe you want a kickass flight-sim rig with 5-6 monitors but you also want the performance of the 4090 and don't wanna deal with the nightmare that Nvidia multimonitor setup is. You let the 4090 handle the hard work, while you use something like the RX 7900XTX to display the picture and take the secondary loads like gameplay capturing or streaming. I can totally see the non-Pro Threadrippers in all kinds of high-end sim-rigs.
Even though SLi and CrossFireX are dead, i personally expect to see gaming benchmarks with 2-3-4 4090s and a bunch of monitors.

THERE IS COMPETIOTION FROM INTEL – The Xeon W-2400 lineup! So many reviews and no one even tried to compare to intel's actual fresh HEDT – W790. What kind of review incompetence is this? Yes, Intel would loose, but so what, this means we can just ignore it and compare to desktop CPUs? And LTT made a video about W790 Xeon W and when fresh TR comes out you just ignore them? Mindblowing.
You can't compare the Threadripper 7000 to a 14900K, it's not the same CPU class. One is for gaming and the other no so much
