  1. I'm taking the legion go back for the third time. Steam Deck is much easier😅🎉

There's a lot of focus in other videos on how the Lenovo is more powerful and runs games at a higher fps, but this video focuses on usability, which is more important imo.

  2. Also no proof Legion will be supported ling term. Steam proved they donr consider the Deck a cash grab.

  3. HALL EFFECT STICKS SHUD BE STANDARD NOW ON ALL HANDHELDS

  4. It’s possible to install steam deck OS in the Lenovo one?

  5. If the steam deck gets controller drift are there easy ways to fix it since they aren't detachable?

  6. Legion go by far

  7. I have the legion go and im not sure what he’s talking about. What a machine

  8. Lenovo and their oblivious naming scheme… I'll pass solely on the fact that they named it that and they won't see a whole lot of Christian households buy it for their kids at Christmas…
The negative connotations with that "name" in times like these, but at least they'll have the few kids who like to put 3 6's in their username.
I really like it and would prefer it being that I can sort windows issues out, but I won't touch it with that name. That said, I just put my order in for the seamless experience of the Steam Deck OLED Limited. Linux is a lot less of a hassle and Chinese companies aren't exactly known for their 🤔 "support" with games. Even driver support is iffy with Chinese companies, you'll never be able to run an OEM driver suite because they're using a shoddy mobo that won't function with the driver because it knocks the hardware of at the knees in unusual ways. Acer and Dell are the only ones that always build on a proper mobo that doesn't cause issues with complete drivers.
Lenovo has a long ways to go in proving that they're actually up to the task of supporting this unit for the intended purpose… Uphill battle for first gen burgers or should I call them beta testers?

I am curious whether Lenovo will back this unit similarly to their laptops in that their entire lineup has nearly every part available, direct from Lenovo…

  9. What aboutthe ROG Ally in all of this.

  10. Steam deck gets so many software updates(this is a good thing) compared to the windows handhelds, they are made by hardware companies that do minimal updates, where as valve is a software company that rolls out a heap of improvements via updates, go to their website and look at the update history and it shows their commitment to the handheld.

Another thing that gets overlooked, the processor in the Lenovo Legion Go and Asus Ally is the AMD Z1, that processor is technically more powerful than the custom AMD processor in the Steam Deck, but at or below 15 watts the Steam Deck performance is equal and the lower you go the Steam Deck gets an advantage, and then the driver updates for the Z1 will be few and far between, because unlike the AMD Ryzen 7 – 7840U the chip is based on, it does not get support from AMD and Asus/Lenovo have to do the updates themselves.
I wouldn't rely on hardware companies to provide software driver updates with any kind of consistency or even quality.

If you want something like a Switch but for PC games, get the Steam Deck.

  11. I yhink i would prefer the steam deck

  12. How can you even compare the llg with that pathetic steam deck?

  13. I cannot get Starfield to run on my legion Go. Keeps saying out dated drivers and crashes.

  14. Steam deck is for non pc gamers.

  15. Be good if the steam deck Oled had a bigger screen

  16. Cnet still exist?

  17. The thing with the legion go is because of how new it is its doesn't have a whole lot of upgraded drivers at the moment so it's more of a waiting game

  18. Does anyone know why quake 4 isn't playable on the legion Go from game pass? I get a GL error

  19. This guy is such a casual 😂 just stick to consoles man

  20. Definitely not the PS Portal.. It sucks

  21. All these handheld pc gaming devices make me appreciate my Nintendo Switch and gaming PC more.

    1. Because a Switch is a full pledged gaming console and it’s smaller and more portable to take outside. The quick resume feature and great battery life (switch OLED) are more than enough for my portable gaming and it plays indie titles perfectly plus some old titles. It’s also a hybrid and you get to really own your games forever by buying cartridges.

    2. If I wanted to play PC games then I just use my beefed up gaming PC. If I play a modern singleplayer game then why experience it in a tiny screen with unstable framerate and low graphic settings? It doesn’t make much sense to me. Plus I already consider the Deck as a BIG handheld device so the LeGo is just a gigantic mess to carry. The Steam Deck mostly needed an internet connection which is a turn off. I don’t even need to talk about battery life because it’s atrocious for any PC handheld.

I been wanted a handheld, but knowing how the game goes . Im juat patiently waiting for the best specs for my budget

  22. Just returned Legion go and ordered steam deck. Fps is unplayable on the analog sticks due to dead zone, and I don't plan to use it on a table that's why I wanted a portable. Tons of launch issues with games, very bad user experience.
Also most of my games are on steam hence SD oled makes more sense

  23. I game on an Xbox and Oled Switch, the best of both worlds

  24. The Lenovo Legion go is not worth it for the reason it is not like a game console. I mind as well buy a gaming laptop that is more powerful and cheaper at a pawn shop.

  25. I own a Legion go, and I can tell you is frustrating. I was excited about the fps mode and believe me when I tell you it's a mess. It doesn't translate well with the games and each game has a different controller set up very different from each other. Halo has a different set up than Crisis and COD etc. Other than that, is an impressive system except for the Windows 11 headaches.

  26. Steam Deck has the best seamless user out-of-the-box experience out of all the portable gaming devices I own. 👍

  27. Hello thank you.steam dac is garbage but legion go really amazing really good.

  28. Lenovo Legion Go is more expensive because it is also considerably more powerful than the Stem Deck OLED. It has better internals than even the ROG Ally.

  29. Steam Deck all the way… How commited is Lenovo to the Legion? – Could it be axed in 3 years? …. just saying.

  30. I agree with this review since he states prior it is from someone who is PC apprehensive,. If you are the opposite and are willing to tweak to your hearts desire then i think the conversation is different. The legion go is far superior performance wise to the steam deck but its UI is trash, however so was the SD 1 month in. So, you can either 1. wait for it to get refined or 2. Install ChimeraOS and boom you got a more powerful SD. Then the conversation turns into : Do i want better battery life and an oled screen or do i want a more powerful SD with a 1440p 144 hz screen?

  31. I’m actually glad someone without a pc gaming background reviewed it. My biggest hesitation to these devices is that it is too much of a pc. I play on consoles and i own a Mac, literally haven’t worked on a windows since I was a child.

  32. I feel like GPD started this

So far my experience with the Legion Go has been mostly good so far. It’s great not being chained down to steam. I’m also able to play GamePass games natively along with other launchers. And being able to play AAA games at higher resolutions and still maintaining playable frame rates is nice. (It’s my Baldur’s Gate 3 machine.) However, part of me still wonders if I would be happier with the Steam Deck. Most of my gaming library is in Steam. Plus the Legion go not having a sleep button to suspend my games like the Steam Deck and Nintendo switch does suck. As a father of a newborn, I only have time to game in spurts. So If I can’t save I’ll constantly have to lay the Legion go down and leave it running, plugged in until I can get back to it. I just wondered if the hit in performance is worth it.

Steam is nice but I do prefer Windows. I have been using Asus Ally since day 1. So far, zero issue. What a beautiful machine. I use it to play Diablo 4 and when I need to do some work, I just plugin my portable monitor, and it becomes a portable desktop

  33. Ill take oled screen anytime anywhere

  34. Why Ally is not in the conversation?

  35. i saw an 8" IPAD for sale i think [-$150] a few weeks ago

  36. The Legion go will do well when steamOS launches for other handhelds. I just wonder if the optimizations are OS or hardware.

  37. I just ordered my first Steam Deck, a refurbished 512 GB model. I'm beyond excited.

  38. You can hook up a eGPU to the Lenovo go

  39. Microsoft can easily dominate the gaming market if they came out with their own handheld system. think about it, 16 gigs of RAM, Zen 3, you could download OG Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox live arcade, Xbox series X, and game pass. With their own custom OS like the series x, all within Microsoft's grasp

    I'll take the Deck OLED.

  40. does he not know u can install windows 11 on steam deck lol

  41. The Go still has external storage disconnect issues, and anything less than 1080p res looks blurry compared to the Ally or Deck, due to using a portrait display. Deck has one too, but Valve tweak adjusts the paramters to make it sharp.

  42. Oooo on the Lenovo, can you play the PS Remote Play and then use the controllers? or pair a PS5 controller.

  43. Love that these machines are beefier with larger screens than the stuff we grew up with.

  44. Is it better getting an Laptop Gaming PC or an Gaming PC Handheld?

  45. Returning the Legion Go. The Steam Deck OLED poops on it. Performance isn’t everything. SteamOS is superior in every way right now
