When you add ice cubes to your beverage they begin melting fast and can often water down your drink. Using an ICE SPHERE provides the same cooling effect but with less of it coming into contact with the liquid. That means the ice-ball will melt slower while keeping your beverage nice and frosty.

We figured out a simple way to get edible ice balls using tennis balls and balloons. This means you donโ€™t need to buy expensive molds. In fact, you can make these right now with stuff you probably already have laying around your house.

I use the small canning jars. Fill 1/3 to 1/2 with water, put on lid, freeze. When ready to use, you can slowly warm the glass in a bowl of warm water to release the ice, or, just pour you beverage on top. It will chill the drink, and melt slowly.

  16. at the end of the day, it's alot of compromise … just buy a cheap silicone/plastic ice ball mould and be done with it. you'll be happier that way, especially if you want to use these ice balls for drinking (which the video tries to imply at the beginning). "yeah, gimme that ice ball made with in scary tennis ball and balloon and put it in my expensive drink! …." or "give me that ice ball that's made in a food grade mould …"

cost is minimal. If you are going the tennis ball route it's only because you enjoy thinking "outside the box" not because you're going to save any appreciable money.

  42. But you also waste a balloon every time you make one so it's really up to you.
You can get a 4 set of molds for 5 bucks at Walmart, or you can make 10 ice balls for a dollar and a tennis ball. Until you need more. Then you have to go buy more balloons.
