Is this the final part?
I spent an entire day on a lose ram stick after moving. Not sure exactly what it was anymore but the motherboard gave a completely unrelated error code and my dumb ass reseated gpu and cpu before even thinking about the easy ram reseat

16:15 , brother 23 mins on hold 😂😂
I got my wifes phone plan from 89$ to 50$ with 5x the data. Mind you i worked in the cell industry for 20 years previously, so i know how to make things happen. It's a simple thing, stay calm, and be polite. Yeah. That's it. Nothing more. That said having the fact the account was created in 1992, and we have 8 devices on it helps. But still. Just be nice to the call centre people. It's not their fault for your issue
RIP star forge, fatty Jake is out for y’all.
i can't remember…when was part 2? ah well at least part 3 is here…i like this series.
This is hurting to watch the HP part

Why not say "Secret Shopper 3" in the title?
This was enjoyably painful to watch.
GO SHEA
In 2016 I decided to build instead of buy a prebuilt. Now I'm a sysadmin.
I buy power probably sells more units than any other company and has more experience. I know most of my friends that arent local to me all have I buy power machines. They are normally pretty good at price to performance and have some pretty good parts, nzxt cases standard internals solid coolers. Pretty good.
That cyberpower part is just too hard to watch.
I recall that in the last Secret Shopper, HP's motherboard was chirping out beep codes that helped speed up the troubleshooting process. Might be a good idea for HP to include beep codes on the Omen ATX boards for consistency.
ibuypower sucks, the screw to take off open the pc broke off they never sent a replacement, my psu died within 2 years of purchase and it wasnt under warrenty anymore and then the AIO went to shit and my cpu started throtting at 100 c
Regarding NZXT… I worked for MIcrosoft/Xbox networking support as a Lead in my department a lot of my conversations went a lot like this rep. The facts are that 95% of the people you talk to for support for pretty much anything DO NOT know what they are doing. Everything is scripted as companies ditched personality and effectiveness for protection from possible harm to the business and a BROKEN 5 star/10 star program to artificially inflate their resolution stats and overall customer happiness.
It is this way for ANY and ALL customer support on the phone.
NZXT guy is Chad. Promote him imo
well damn, IBP knocked it out of the PARK with this one, big ups!
Holy shit that cyberpower call was diabolical
And ppl wonder why mom and pop shops still profiting. Drive down the street to buy it. Drive down the street to fix it. I'll drive to you to.
With Dell, I wonder how many tech illiterate people call in. That could be why the numerous troubleshoot the monitor first.
Legally I'm not supposed to disclose information about my experience with CyberPower PC. But Seriously, DON"T BUY ONE!
Shea’s facial expressions are absolutely priceless
tbh with cyberpower focusing on the GPU over multiple calls it seems like it is more of a training/processes issue than the specific advisors.
Does Linus's team at LTTStore just offer discounts when stuff shows up damaged? I doubt it.
Move the hell on Linus.
easier said that done…with all due respect I think the roles should be reversed and he should have one of these manufactures let Linus run a customer service line for the day. That would make great youtube content.
Me and my girls fav series! We could watch these all day
My friend got a cyberpower pc cause they had a great sale. Wouldnt turn on on arrival, seemingly doa. No lights, no fan spin, nothing. He sent me a few pics, we ran through the normal trouble shooting options with cables. And i made him replace the power supply cable to the wall. Boom, worked just fine. I can imagine these people figuring that out being very painful.
probably watch the show so trolled you??
The Cyberpower segment was honestly dificult to go through.
Friend of mine had memory controller issue on the CPU on a build from cyberpower. OEM so Intel won't touch it – she has to pay like $150 to ship it to CyberPower. Pack up the box at home and pay extra to UPS to double box it at the store. Still arrives damaged to CyberPower. Before it was sent, she confirmed her correct address with them via the email chain. The tower was shipped from the correct address. Also they replaced the RAM instead the CPU. RAM passed all the harware tests I did on it, but I guess I don't know 100% that it wasn't fixed because….. they shipped it to her old address she had the computer originally delivered when she bought it months before. They didn't even tell her it had shipped until 3 days after it was delivered (and signed for) at the wrong address by a total stranger. Weeks go by. Eventually CyberPower says they'll build her a new PC. She's been without a computer for a month so far. Matches up with what I see in this video
One thing to note for the Cyberpower experience, it is 100% Cyberpower's fault, not the reps. They are probably being paid nothing with awful work conditions and that's the reason why all their reps are tired of speaking with customers and simply don't care about them, so if we demand better from Cyberpower it would be to demand them to pay and improve the conditions for their workers.
Ah, the HP… I only have an old laser b&w printer from them, but I've heard a lot. I also heard a Russian saying "HP stands for 'Huli Plakat'", which is a somewhat foul way of saying "You knew what you were getting into by buying from HP".
did I miss where they asked her to break the PC?
I bought an iBuyPower machine from bestbuy on black friday, the system came in perfect shape with no issues and immediately posted when i plugged it into my monitor, after oricing the parts (300 off for black friday) it was $20 cheaper than building it. As for anything past that, i downloaded gpu drivers and it just works.
They should be on video calls and give the support reps a model to demonstrate
expectation of a Video call? Laughable
Dell diagnostics codes are so f*cking useful!
I dont think regedit is neccessarily bad in the ibuypower scenario. unless they have uefi util to reset the OS or OOBE theres really not many other options that the end user can complete easily and the PC is already unusable so even if she messed up in regedit the next step is to RMA anyways.
I'd dock some points from ibuypower because they clearly have a known issue with their Windows image and they keep sending out systems with that same OOBE problem.
CyberPower's score dropped from D minus to D-Brand 😂😂😂
I have a feeling alot of these support centers are using Amazon Connect or similar cloud based solutions instead of legacy switching solutions as thier backend for calls…. let me just say I have seen call drops spike since the mass move to cloud call center platforms. with cloud solutions and WFH dropped calls are happening way more frequently then older legacy systems and theres negligible quality increase when they do work as intended.
Why would you do this before testing???????? This should be the last step/
