Noctua sent us one of their first CPU cooler models, the NH-U12 from 2005. But how does it actually perform versus an equivalent Noctua CPU cooler that you can buy today?

I wonder how other brands would perform. Though, it would be hard to get a new mounting adapters for the like Noctua does.
Many companies will send you a new mounting kit. Noctua is not special in that category and you should look into some alternatives, because it looks like you are stuck with some outdated information.
Noctua is awesome!
no olviden que el agua dentro de las pipas de calor no dura para siempre
Buy a $80 drop shipped screwdriver 🤣 so cringe no one has ever spoken up
Hey don't auction it off.
I still has one of their coolers (dont know exact name, something like – NH-U12SP2 – 1 tower with 2 fans) in my rig. Bought second hand for a price of some fancy new bigger coolers with more towers and fans and still outperforms them while being almost completely silent most of the time with an overclocked 6600K. Also this type o videos is great keep it up!
Wait so you can actually test coolers right. Guess you had the couple 100 in the budget for it
This is the reason I like Air Cooler
Everyone I know keeps the receipts indefinitely.
The answer is: yes if you can adapt.
The correct question is: SHOULD you use?

Surprised there was an actual tech tip in this short 😂
One is copper, one is aluminium
Heat sink technology has not been improved since 20 years ago. Bottlenecked for 20 years
Shill
this old fan is designed for cases, low static pressure, less blades… not surprised
Good advice 👍
what?!
Use an AIO instead
Thermalright silver arrow here still kicking ass
I've had Noctua send me new mounting hardware for second hand purchased coolers no questions asked when I was a lot less affluent.
Might be why I've bought a lot of Noctua gear after I became more affluent.
I see people praising Noctua for sending mounting parts for free. Just wanna y'all to know that any respectable Colling Hardware retailer does the same, you just need to contact them and provide legit proof of purchase 🙂
Ofc this case of it being 18 years ago isn't something I would vouch for, but if it's a new purchase or only a few years ago then give it a try!
That actually makes a lot of sense, and I actually did that to an old cooler that just had a dead fan, but it was still a terrible design whereas this design looks to be fine.
fun fact tt true 120 extreme act better than u12 with kit side 3
