Running Windows on a Chromebook has always been hard. But a partnership between Google and Parallels has made things easier – for the enterprise, at least.

If I did this on my school chromebook, I would get suspended 😂
I just Modded Chromebook and its fully windows
What is what version for windows 10 for Chromebook
Kind of makes you want to plug in a old usb keyboard into your chromebook.
Chromebooks are like cat in lion 🦁 costume
Me, watching this on a chromebook with a 60hz TN panel and a celeron from 2016:
Please note that while you can download apps from the play store in chrome OS, there will still only be mobile controls, meaning you will get the popups and WASD and such do not work. Recently, they have been adding officially supported games for chromebooks- but the list for months has been the same 20 or so applications.
The same basic principle of technology adoption that Apple used for decades when they were the Golden Child inside schools.
When running windows in a virtual machine becomes news for ChromeOS… well… that just tells me how hard their idea to market this to enthusiasts is going downhill.
It takes some great specs in some cases to make even a decent-good virtual machine that one would actually want to use over just having windows running on bare metal.
Chromebooks have their niche. The web is becoming a place you can do more and more. Problem is… the computers running the web… can’t be on chromebooks. And some people would just rather run programs on their computer.
I dislike how Chromebooks reviewers never mention how garbage trackpads are on all Chromebooks. I'm currently using a mid to high tier Chromebook with amazing build quality typing this, and yet the trackpad is garbage. Not build quality mind you, software. Even on high end ones, the cursor still lags toward the last bit of the swipe. I believe this is similar on MacOS, which is baffling when you consider some idiots out there class Apple laptops as being a top tier trackpad experience. On Windows? You have absolute control, you can swipe with pixel precision (depending on hardware ofc). Even on lower end models.
I have not yet to this day, found a reason to complain about Windows, even if certain aspects of it can be frustrating. No proper deep sleep? I'm not traveling with my laptop turned on in my bag anyway. Certain things do not work? You are bound to find tons of tutorials on how to fix it.
Parrells was a good way to run windows on a Mac in the early days
I use mine as a low quality linux desktop. Literally deleted my Windows partition, slapped chromeOS on it, (not flex) and fired up some android and linux apps. I do have to switch back to Windows everynow and then when Wine dosent feel like working with me, but for the most part I just use my fake Chromebook. And besides, the user experice onn chromeOS is much better than pretty much every other OS out there, except that Ive been forced to use GParted for some of my flash drives.
What about for Pixelbook Go? Can It run parallels windows?
What's the point buy windows laptop….. 😅😮
all I want to know is who puts 16 gb on a Chromebook…
Its just a vm not anything exiting
I am actually using Windows 11 through Parallel on my M1 Macbook😂 Sometimes im just trolling my friends using Windows on a Macbook
i have a chromebook "acer CB514"
1:27 – Nice aspect ratio, like the Microsoft Surfaces do have that aspect ratio…
I hope you realize that you can install windows on the actual hardware on the chromebook from a 3rd grade classroom
Yeah, no thanks. No matter how cool this is, I ain't touching Google's nonsense fake computers running an even worse version of their phone OS & I certainly won't let my grade-school nephew torture himself with this nonsense. Buncha greedy exec morons.
Also, "military grade" means "cheap-as-shit". If you ever wondered why the M-16 sucked back in the Vietnam War & took AGES for the gun platform to actually be good, now you know.
Amazing how Chrome OS is bigger than Linux. Chrome is the most boring crappy OS
for acer chromebook 314 its working????
If you're spending that much on a chromebook you have the desire to run windows, just get a windows laptop
Me: my parents get me a chrome book
Also me: modifies the hardware to let me use UEFI boot, allowing me to boot into windows 10 or 11.
Yes. I actually did this. The one laptop I have is a chrome book, and I modified the bios to let me boot into anything I want. This includes Windows.
and howww do i run windows on a chromebook
Got to admit i do love my cromebook r 13 acer i had for a few years,
i mean i can run lunix on my machine which helps me write code well and these days just watch youtube or write documents/letters, some games from google play can run on it but i do miss the oppertunity to edit videos or do media stuff
i'd love to be able to switch out between chrome os and windows on seperate HDD or os like i can with Mac os and windows bootcamp
great video linus
look – we want to low cost low power machines to be usable, for example for schoolers or educators – so, lets build fast low res demandable modern os! no – we will take mobile os and cut its functionality as shit! we will call it chrome os!
nice hash does not work
ChromeBooks are used in schools a lot and they get the WORST ChromeBooks of all time.
Chrome is out appling Apple! Apple did that in the early 90s and got huge returns starting in the late 90s.
My current primary school has always used windows since well when schools used windows like windows xp or 95 or something I didn’t even exist then so yeah and my high school will use windows and probably my university or collage
Chromebooks are for serious business now. Not just for Farmville.
Chrome os
biggest disadvantage is we can't use it for software development most of the development software are unsupported.
If you have to run a totally different operating-system on your laptop for it to be useful, you have really fucked up
Better option, system wipe the thing nd install Windows os on it
