Comments

  1. linus, alex and cooling. is never a good match. always something crazy will happen😂

  2. So obvious that this is full disclosure and honest video work! Makes it so real world and much more interesting of a watch!

  3. Compared to that, most previous experiments with Alex seem to be totally normal by-the-book stuff

  4. 30 dollars? sure but instilling it required 4 paid staff, a heat chamber and sophisticated soldering equipment, So your average Joe can't afford that.

  5. Should've added ice to the reservoir

  6. I would really like to see this done properly without ruining the original cooling solution!

  7. Can you do a part 2 to this but with ice or chilled water

  8. You don't need a union when you have a good boss!

  9. I almost want a side channel just with the ltt engineers dinking around.

  10. More Nate Please!

  11. 11:22 dougdemuro is that you??

  12. When Linus and Alex are involved you know there is going to be a lot of jank involved

  13. U can go with an idea like "shunt the 4090 and Mod it" some people even reach 250w with the 4090 on the same laptop

  14. He saved it with that "I was a bedwetter" comment 😆😆 No kink shaming, Linus 😆😆

  15. Far easier to tin the area's of contact and the new heat pipe THEN heat the new pipe only until you see them both flow together, that will isolate the heat away from the rest of the heat pipes

  16. I got the Amd Ryzen 9 7945HX3D version, might have to try this when the day comes when my warranty expires.

Also what I've noticed was the cpu is always at a high temp even without load, and the 4090 doesnt run till a game launches most of the time, overall pretty good managment of heat and utilization.

  17. That metal screwdriver is looking pretty stunning.

  18. I can't fucking believe this worked, it was going so unbelievably hilariously wrong and then it just worked, how did they get away with this.

  19. Casually using a $2,400 pre-heater… Meanwhile I'm using a 20 year old $10 heat plate I stole from my high school chemistry lab. 😆

  20. I also felt like a winner today after repairing some bent pins on a MSI mobo. It's truly satisfactory once you achieved something you first thought would be impossible to.

  21. I absolutely cannot stand Alex's fake laugh where he bounces his shoulders like that. It upsets me far beyond what is reasonable.

  22. V2 do this to the ROG Ally and it’s eGPU and watch it rip

  23. what if the water reservoir was in a freezer tho wouldn’t that drastically lower the temps?

  24. As I watch this, all of a sudden I see Stephen Wozniak building his first apple computer… think of the Frankenstein he created!

  25. I’m interested could put ice cubes in that water see if there’s an improvement? Please

  26. Ssketchy Alex reaches for new … IDk what sketchiness? This is quite the jury rigged set up, even for him. What could possibly go wrong?

  27. ohhGOD this is full of pain

  28. “We took the safety lockouts out of our environmental chamber!”

Of course you did. I would expect nothing less

  29. Question: is that an almost 50k US Dollar Thermal camera?

  30. The number of times Linus registered defeat was impressive, considering how well this ended up working. Not bad for a $30 Ali Express supplied solution. We got entertainment, education and end results worth celebrating.

  31. Well of course with a soldering station and preheating plate worth the price of the laptop or more it's pretty eazy, do it at home lol

  32. Wow Nate has some charismatic stage presence for someone appearing for the first time. Great addition to the team

  33. Faltó echarle hielos a esa agüita de horchata amigos 😊

  34. I like Nate with you and Alex same chaotic "I know how to do this properly but thats no fun" energy I hope to see him in many more future janky projects.

  35. Not thurmal paste but paste solder

  36. What a horrible mess.

  37. nate is hot

  38. TETSUYA NEMURA CHARACTERS BUCKLES 😭😭😭

  39. Lol, didn't need a Y headed back, could just throw both ends in bucket. Unnecessary restriction.

  40. Can you guys start running open source LLMS and Stable Diffusion when testing GPU performance? There are a lot of us who would like to see performance differences in real-world usage where it really matters.
