Samsung Display’s QD-OLED Gen 3 Monitors are HERE and they’re better in just about every way from text clarity to refresh rates. At long last, a 16:9 aspect ratio on a flat screen…

Price?
This is straight misinformation in your description? Linus makes it seem like the links are for the new monitors. This is a total scam.
Until I can use the monitor like I would like a normal IPS monitor (not really thinking about maintenance), I'm going to stay away for now.
I love how you quacks show the price of a 4090 being $1700 when I cant find one under $2200….
How does 1080p look on a 4k monitor? I know it looks worse on my 1440p monitor than it does on my second monitor which is 1080p.
Gen 1 QD-OLED was horrible. I picked up the Sony A95K because it looks so amazing and 8 month into ownership had it already had issues. We watch a lot of older programs that are in 4:3. Our LG CX that we had ran for a couple years had no uniformity issues. However, after just 8 months with the same usages as the LG, we could see that the area where the black bars would be on a 4:3 image where noticeably brighter the the center portion when watching regular 16:9 content. I hope this new gen is better, but I will not be trying it lol.
Picked up S90C so I'm already in love with QD-OLED. Can we get this in VR? 😅
sDR < HDR*
What game are they playing at 6:20?
Shoutout to my AP Psych teacher, Mr. Frangia, for teaching me about color perception 🙌
I'm extremely happy i got my asus aqdm 240hz oled monitor. It really is " perfect in every way"
Damn!! Only only 20G? For a TV/Monitor. Rich people problems.
I just got the alien ware 🤔 should I return it?
But Does it beat Trinitron? 😂
Time to buy a new monitor
as someone who looks at code for 10 hours a day that fringing would annoy me. Otherwise these monitors look perfect. (Same reason I felt my 4k 28" monitors were a significant downgrade from my 4k 24" ones.. the sharpness is just notably worse on text)
Ripping off IFIXIT?! 😂 they're your friends. Goes to show there's no low Linus won't go for a paycheck.
Isn't Linus quite the salesman these days? He was good before, but he's approaching televangelist-level enthusiasm now. Makes me want to check the mailbox for a free toaster…
Can you test it for best settings for release. I know every monitor is different but it will get everyone close
Great video ! A+
When is it coming out?
As soon as Linus said PANTONE I could just hear Sarah squee at the idea of having one lol
16gb handhelds like Steam deck, Ally and Legion Go are slowly being outdated for newer AAA releases due to lack of memory and stutter on games like Avatar and Alan Wake 2. Msi could have future-proofed their handheld with 32gb. What a disappointment.
I can tell the difference, its significant, love LTT and been a massive fan for years but still, I can tell the difference and so can at least one of my friends and further more, both of my cousins
I can take an IPS, but I can never Ever take Burn-In.
Bloody finally, 32" 4k high refresh oled…. fed up of constant large non desk tv tyle montors and superwide formats.
Aren't all those linked monitors QD-OLED Gen 2? This should really be called out in the description..
does anybody know what game is being played at 7:35 ??? please help😭
This all is actually cool tech in there, and I want to feel excited for adopting it somewhere down the line.
But my experience buying a new monitor couple years about left me so exhausted with lack of QC and basic features (like sRGB clamp) that I feel that trying to get a new one would be just a chore. Sour taste from being advertised 2k 140Hz G/Free-Sync monitors, while mid-range card barely can handle ~60fps at 2k does not improve things.
this 27 1440p mmmm my pick!
Only gaming 🙄
4:49 is that a dead pixel?
I just bought a 55" S90C for pc gaming in the living room. I've been loving it. I thought i was seeing blooming on it but that should be impossible so I'm blaming my eyes, which aren't great. And I've been playing RDR2 at 4k and noticing strong ghosting, but it's on an RTX 3060 avg 40 fps so that's probably what that is. Lots of games for me to try but HDR and G-sync have been a new learning curve for me to grapple with first.
They have to stop costing like 1,000 dollars.
Bdo Pog
I'm told that the Avatar game on these monitors is astounding.
"Even if you don't have the budget for the GPU today"…..talking about monitors that cost $1000+ each. If you can't afford the GPU, you can't afford the monitor either, lol
6:19 game name?
Sure, their tech is great, but what about their service? I constantly hear negative experiences from their customer service regarding TVs and monitors, and experienced it myself when they haphazardly arranged shipping me my 49" QD-OLED. Your tech being great only matters if your product arrives fully functional. How about some secret shopper action?
I don’t like the Trust Samsung Bro guarantee that you won’t get burn ins
I've seen a number of these "gushing" OLED monitor reviews so far. I think they haven't passed the test of time just yet. No-burn-in claims (especially ones coming from the manufacturer) usually come with six asterisks.
Then there's the thing with "normal use" – what is normal use ? To me "normal use" is the way I'm used to be using my non OLED displays – they are oftentimes powered on, with static elements on-screen for 10+ hours per day. With that – I'm used to having these screens serve me for at least 5 years with zero defects and no degradation in image quality.
I don't consider "normal use" having to tip-toe around the fragile flower that is the OLED tech, with constant panel refreshes, dynamic screensavers, etc.
Can OLED provide all that today ? I have many doubts, with the tech coming to desktops only very recently – meaning, you can't speak much about their longevity beyond a year or two. And that is, IF you've been babysitting it properly.
I don't consider a screen to be good, if I can't leave it ON without worrying it might get wrecked by something that should basically be its default operating mode.
