I seem to remember that during the transition between vertical and horizontal flight the US military airplane called the osprey had trouble with the transition locking up, I just don't know how I feel about this kind of crafts. I think I will give it a few decades and see.

Electric batteries aren't reliable enough for this. If dealing with cold weather, the battery can't deliver it's full potential. That's a critical issue since consistent power is needed.
