  1. Sell your old graphics card the easy way and offset the cost of your new card at https://bit.ly/JawaLTTJan24

  2. glad to know the temps are good. The verge's review said it was overheating. They said they got the heatpipes cooling instead of the vapor chamber. I guess it makes that big of a difference. 68ºC on the CPU is insanely low.

  3. If your poor this is useless, if you are rich this is useless either way you pay almost the same every 2 to 3 years.. Your better off spending on an actual well built gaming laptop, selling it and buying a new one which would still be superior with brand new tech in it. This is a niche toy for people to play with. Personally I dont want to carry around 3 year old junk pieces of metal frames with me.

  4. Not really a proper disclosure of your vested interest but ok

  5. Cool. Just two things are a problem for me: price and me being used to Thinkpad keyboards including the trackpoint I actually use.

  6. they should have more worldwide distribution or this not gonna be a thing

  7. If you tried to make a non biased review, giving it to your friends/colleagues is not maybe the way to go…

  8. Batch 13 preorder here. I'm happy to hear the final product doesn't have any massive flaws and maybe some of the issues here are ironed out until Q3 deliveries are sent out.

I skipped the GPU as I'm not planning on gaming on it, but unlike other brands I can actually buy the next gen GPU if I need it by then 👌

I'm currently running a mostly broken Surface Book 2, that barely works but could easily be repaired if everything wasn't glued. Can't wait to retire it and get my hands on a working machine that's also user upgradable.

  9. You have to be crazy to pay 2100$ for that laptop… Lenovo Legion with 4070 costs about 1500 – 1600 without taxes (framework site also gives prices without tax), and that Lenovo will destroy that framework…

  10. I find it a little bit funny but also depressing, what counts as "great" for a windoews based laptop. 8h when just playing youtube should not be considered a lot. In my experience, I will get around half that battery life when programming.

  11. I am so far from their target demographic, but I love to see what they're doing in the space.

  12. The Problem with these, and i know it's wasteful but, you can just buy one now and one down the line for similar money as this one and Probably get more bang for your buck

  13. Knowing Linus, he is invested in Framework but still legit when it comes to the video's of the complete team

  14. I hope that there will be an intel and NVidia parts in the future

  15. Its can make sense only if you can replace motherboard

  16. Looks super nice! Can you buy Fremworks computers in the EU?

  17. That's one ugly laptop

  18. Wish more was done to compare the framework to laptops like the Dell XPS 15 or MacBook Pro. It would be good to get insight on whether additional weight and bulk is a worth while trade off in the context of laptops for commuting and work.

  19. Ah yes, the classic shilling for a product you have a financial stake in. Classic youtuber grift 101

  20. For the next review, I'd like to see a head-to-head between a current-gen Framework and an older model with upgraded internals. Also, could you include the total cost breakdown? I want to see what the long-term upgrade costs really add up to. Plus, we should consider that upgrading leaves us with a bunch of spare parts that aren't much use. And if it were a regular, everyday laptop, it'd be easier to pass it on to someone else, right?

  21. What I wouldn't give to have Framework laptops availabe in india………a big premium!

  22. Jawa is an absolute ripoff for selling. They offered me $175 for my rtx 2080ti and only $545 for my rtx 4080 💀 might as well go to a pawn shop for those shit offers.

  23. I can't wait for framework to launch in Sweden. I really am excited to see what the future holds for this brand, having the ability to swap parts with ease is amazing and I wish more brands would embrace this. I kind of miss the 18650 based battery packs but since people prefer thinner laptops nowadays I guess we'll have to suffer with the flatpacks… 😀 Those LED panels look amazing too, totally "useless" I am sure but who doesn't love LEDs? Would've liked a little more info on what they can do in the review though.

  24. If they could ramp up, i am sure we could see great under 1k laptops. Its just economics of scale. Really love this concept.

  25. What an odd 18 minute commercial

  26. It's not practical and it's probably going to be expensive to upgrade parts like the graphics card or processor.

I'm all for upgrades, but nobody is willing to invest in creating upgradable modular parts so it ends up being very expensive and no company stands behind it. I think people need to forget this pipe dream. The best we could and should have are upgradable memory and nvme.

Most people will replace their laptops by the time the hardware is old. Not to mention the motherboard will likely not even support the processor by the time a new one comes out. It's a complete mess. It won't work. Lol

  27. Whenever I hear about this brand, I cannot help but wonder how well they actually hold up when used by someone like a college student, or someone who is frequently on the road. I do hope they work well, but my confidence level is low. So the reasonable use case is I guess the occasional traveller, and/or someone who just likes to move around their home a lot. Like to different rooms or whatever.

  28. tesla is the king of panel gaps and gets dragged for it constantly, rightfully so, framework has gaps in their modules and the display is crooked…thumbs up and applaude please 10/10! would spend 2k
