Is buying a PS5 or Xbox really a better bang for your buck? Or, with a little creativity, can you build a gaming PC for the same price, and put shame to the Sony name?

Deals for Days. Big home savings are happening now.
the big problem is that, what I believe, the majority of people interested in a gaming pc to play the same games as a ps5 won't buy used part. They would likely go and buy a prebuilt pc from a store. Ending up costing much more…
ANDDD THE PC COSTS TWICE AS MUCH IN THE UK
i dont like for now intel gpu i would chose something cheap from amd whit same or a bit less perforance
4 years late 😂
Also in 1-2 years there will be better consoles on the market.
Honestly it is the best build anyone can get as for as pc gaming is concerned, i live in Pakistan and building a good Gaming PCs here is pain in the ass. But i still managed to get a pretty decent one…
Here are my specs:
Ryzen 5 3600
Rx 580
A320m motherboard
Edragon draco 600w psu
Druk gaming case 3rgb fans
16gigs of 3200mhz ram
128gb SSD
500gb hard drive
What do you guys think? Is this value for money for you guys? Or not?!
Edit: All of that cost me $330 usd..
Have not seen him without his beard for a while now. This is strangely refreshing
10 year warranty… dam
my old 450w gold sfx is still kicking around in my diyNAS powering 8 HDDs and one 12k rpm drive just stays alive

Another upside of the PC though, is that you can actually use it for way more than a PS5. You can edit videos, edit documents, do some programming, etc.
Since both Sony and Xbox sell their consoles at a loss, wouldn't it also be accurate to say that if you were buying said hardware at the price point of what they were at launch vs now, you'd have a lot more wiggle room for equipment of comparable value? Like lets say hardware at launch before their loss would equate to, $650. If you did that now, it would honestly be a completely different ball game. Just curious what numbers we'd see, if that makes sense.
PS5 Killer: buy components, assemble PC, Install Windows, install drivers, install games, troubleshoot hardware and/or software.
PS5: buy console, install games, play. WHERE'S THE FUN IN THIS?!?
Can't play those playstation exclusives though.
$399 launch PS5 Digital was the best deal in the world for a gaming rig in 2020.
You lost me at Intel ARC…..
In India its impossible to attain this cost effective desktop… case closed
Is it really a PS5 killer? I would say no. The playstation is not second hand, as are some parts in this PC most notably the case.
More importantly, to me, though, is the fact I am at a point in my life I do not want to 'tweak' the bios, to 'hack' the register. To deal with shitty drivers that keep crashing all the time. It is 2024, and I want things to just work. When I get home from a day of work, I want to relax and play some games. Troubleshooting is not that. The only thing I want to do, is to set up a game and play.
And the PS5 just does all that. And stupid thing is, it doesn't matter how good or expensive your PC is, the PS5 will still win that part hands down, without breaking a sweat.
There is no excuse for things do not work properly on a PC anymore. There just isn't.
wheres the guide for not getting scammed?
It's not itx oof
Did you time travel again 2015 Linus?
Ive got the ryzen 5 5600X for some time, and either that or my GTX 1660 has some sort of error, sometimes my pc freezes slowly "killing" all services.. and some random problems
I legit just got thrown this case with an old computer inside. My friend tried PC hated it, Mine now!
Only Reason I noticed it was cause of the big ole fan with the holes behind lol (Would those holes be used for an external cooling or whats goin on with those?)

We caught up with shaved linus 😭
We need bearded 🧔♂️Linus back
what is this the 10th 500$ pc build they have done? new content please.
I get the appeal of intel arc, and it works fantastically for a lot of games, but I worry that a lot of consumers watching this are not technical enough to troubleshoot their cards. If a less-than-knowledgeable friend asked me to vet his build, I would heavily recommend he switch to red or green team. Don't get me wrong: intel arc is probably satisfactory for a lot of people, but it brings a risk at this time. I really believe that compatibility can often trump bang-for-the-buck deals.
GTA 6 on the Ps5 killer…
9:00 configuremalated conproperly canmake.
why there are often no 0.1% low benchmarking in this kind of videos though?
So here's a sanity check from Serbia
CPU – no used options available currently, but there are New Ryzen 5600x CPUs from 130eur
MOBO – 42-50eur for a B450 used
SSD – 42-50 eur for the same SSD from the video
Case – 10 euro or free depending on how hard you wanna look
PSU – similar units from Corsair, Seasonic etc go for around 30 euro
GPU – NO used ARC 770, new 16gb one is available for 320eur or 270eur for one of the mentioned alternatives
Overall cost – 574eur with ARC or 524eur with GPU alternatives
New PS5 slim – 495eur
Didnt include controller at least in price, or mouse and keyboard.
PCs just cant compete price to performance, never could and never will. A console has optimized games just for their specs, and the device doesnt need to run as many programs.
installling brand new modular PSU in a pile of dust
I think it can't be stated enough that for $500 you did not just get a gaming console. For $500 you got a machine that can run whatever business/art/productivity/science software you want and even emulate a ton of older off market games.
hp z240 100 rtx 2080ti 300 ez win
Please grow the beard back!
Just gift me a pc already 😌😃
dont get the ryzen 5 5600x get the ryzen 5 5600 the only diffrence is 200mhz boost clocks but for 20 dollars less it has the same performance
and if u want the 200 mhz more clock speed all u need is a slight overclock
so i think if ur in a tight budget get a ryzen 5 5600 if u want go look at benchmarks ryzen 5 5600 vs 5600x
You lost as soon as you said second hand parts buddy. You PC goons are hilarious. You'll never really match console price point and performance, cause you can buy a Ps5 new for the same price as your used/compromised parts. Big L
In these discussions people always forget that people don't have just a console, they have a console and most have a laptop or a desktop in their home for other stuff. Combine both budgets and you get a more powerfull gaming PC xD
Hey, FreshFace! Whattap?
Is it GTA VI ready though 👀?
