15:43 Jake is referring to the fact that the latency accounts for the fact that they are using DPDK (Data Plane Development Kitty) to facilitate RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access): basically running RDMA through software, and accounting for the latency as a result (I.e, in the userspace rather than at a kennel level). This is pretty fantastic!

Watching LTT videos about high-end server and networking equipment is like watching PBS SpaceTime videos: I barely understand whats being said, but man is it interesting.
Where I live (netherlands) you would be paying 50k euros or 70k CAD running those for a year at 2000 Watts each, insane.
Good lord – Weka's architecture really lends itself to costing a lot. I mean it works yes, but it's just not the best out there. Being able to 'go fast' is easy for most filesystems out there and companies that do what Weka do… but there are some severe downsides to their solution. Good marketing for them though giving all this to Linus to shout about.

They are finally trying to standardize those LOMs that have been for ages on proprietary slots like minimono, different types of daughter ports, all in a single slot that can provide up to 16 lanes of pcie instead of the prevoius LOM which I think did only 8 but double density connector. My best recommendation to see that continuing for other years
Ah these old quad 2u machines were gold, i also liked the 3u 8x systems when i built ha-hpc stuff back in the day. Cloud sucks compared to the good old days.
