I just got the M1 max (maxed out) I’m not impressed w the performance. I installed and was using cinema 4D and it crashed on me 8X’s and when I added complex animations it glitches. I’m really bummed

I was going to go with the 14 in but my hands felt cramped
I completely disagree about 16GB of RAM being enough. It doesn't even make sense when paired with such a powerful chip. I think the base model should have 32GB of RAM. In my testing, with about 30 chrome tabs, slack, iMessage, music, etc., it's using about 27GB of RAM. Decided to return it today and will be going for the 64GB of RAM option.
The lineup really should look like this: M1 Pro with 32 or 64GB of RAM and M1 Max with 64 or 128GB of RAM.

Great chat, gents! Contemplating the 14 inch base 8 core/ 14 gpu, but having a hard time deciding on 16gb vs 32gb. What type of creator would you say needs 32gb? I mainly livestream and do light-ish video edits in HD and 4k in FCP. Thanks! 🙂

I'm pretty satisfied with my 14" M1 Pro base model. Considering its converted price is $2600 in India its a bit overpriced for most. But apart from that its the best Apple has ever come close to listening to it's customers.

Super powerful impressive chip lazy design outdated the notch looks ridiculous Face ID or not I don’t understand why it’s there. I wish they had Samsungs innovation with Apples software which it seems they are starting to get lazy with also they are getting way to comfortable with being on top and having an avid fan base. If it wasn’t for there own software control they would be out of the phone and computer game completely.

I'm not sure of you all's work flow but there are still a lot of bugs with ProMotion. Safari is buggy and not optimized for 120mhz, even after the tech preview release. Many of Monterey's UI elements are also not optimized. Moving from desktop to desktop is very laggy again, with 120 on. To fix these lags you have to set the frame rate to 60. Really just disappointed that Apple's own software is buggy with their hardware. Hopefully, these bugs get worked out in the next release. Seems like a rushed release.
Yes. Battery life – tasks completed should be considered as you said. Everyone compares the pro vs max without considering this. Miles per gallon not gallons per hour.
