What is the highest end intel cpu i can cool with a kraken 240mm elite?
Thanks for all the great vids you put out.
You realy helped me in building my first pc.
As soon as I saw that 120 aio I knew that it would go down the drain. You can build a mini itx with better cooling and a 4090 and a decent case for the price they charge. Still love your videos ! Well done
Good news for this case: Intel now sets "Default Settings" with PL1/PL2 at 125W/188W for 14900K on most boards.๐คฃ
if this ineed is a "GOOD" pre-built then I believe it will share that space with a VERY small group of peers.
How has the cpu not blown up with the 120mm
I like your jumper.
Corsair has been slacking lately… I expected better…
Just because they're expensive, corsair doesnt mean quality, more budget overpriced brand ๐
Main reason why I build my own. I think I would buy a prebuilt if the BIOS was not locked and the price was right.
But I rather spend the extra money on quality components. PCs are not had to build.
i actually have a question. you know how people are returning 14900k and 13900k in droves due to video memory errors bsod and more? how are people going to return this pc when it comes bundled in with that processor? do they void warranty if you remove intel baseline processor? so many questions i have more lol

You can use "Fan control" a free software program that allows you to customise all your PC fans based on any temps that can be read, so coolant temps would be the best way to tune the fans ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
I certainly can see the reason to have the fanspeed profiles hardcoded in a computer like this. Thing is I've worked with computer repair and computer support for a lot of years, and the times the problems were caused by users doing stupid shit with fan controls or other such things was way to common. The cost of that support can become quite high, and if you are selling gaming computers to end users it can only grow worse. I have a feeling they really would want to remove the CMOS setup utility if they felt that users would accept it.
Now the 120mm radiator was a very strange solution. I can only guess that they experimented and discovered that a 240mm radiator would inhibit the airflow so the GPU radiator might run warm. But at the same time it looked like it would be simple to ad another fan to the lower side panel. That should improve the airflow enough to compensate for a 240mm radiator for the CPU. Or did I miss something in the design?
Well…this will be on fire sale
Totally agree with your take on the thermal set up. My GPU and CPU hang out at 70 to 80 because I keep my fans turned down and thatโs much better
Can you rate my PC I bought through NZXT
CPU: Intel i9-13900KF
GPU: NVIDIAยฎ GeForce RTXโข 4080 SUPER
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 5200 MHz
Storage: 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD
Motherboard: Z790
Cooler: NZXT Kraken 280 Elite
Power: 750W Gold
Case: NZXT H7 Elite
Software: Windows 11 Home
What should I have done different?
Thanks in advance
Kinda weird this is like going backwards in engineering vs the previous Corsair One models that ran cooler with 1×140 fan.
They go with 120mm on 14900K, meanwhile i slapped push pull combo on 420mm for 13900KS.
Did you try to run Cinebench on that 120 mm rad ๐ ? Reckon it would burn out in a matter of a milliseconds
Not being able to change the fan speed is an absolute pisstake.
It is still way too loud – every time I hear you do an audio test on a PC I cannot even hear the PC – This was ridiculously audible
I gotta say for that much money I would want a full size gpu with cooler rather than essentially just the pcb. I understand itโs the solution they had tho
omg im so tired of content creators complaining about noise…..who the fuck uses their gaming pc in a quiet room with no sound. 99% of people are using headphones or a sound system, which, in both cases your not going to hear the sound from your pc. unless your head literally next to it and even then. STOP USING SOUND OF COOLING COMPONENTS AS A METRIC TO HOW GOOD SOMETHING IS. its dumb.
Way to call it like it is. Bravo for common sense. ๐ Nice to see you without googly eyes and without a grin larger than the Cheshire cat's when something Corsair comes along. haha Good job.
GN tore down a similar Dell Alienware prebuilt with a 120mm AIO on a 13900k in an all plastic case with minimal ventilation, so that it throttled to the point of 13600 level performance or something. Both yours and Steve's reactions are priceless. One would think these companies might know something about PC thermals and such…
Appreciate your vids most when you are genuine, mate. Miss the livecasts with Carl where we get to see you be spontaneous. Those are great. Your authentic self is the most entertaining!
I think the og corsair one was cooler bc it actually did stuff you couldnt do with a off the shelf case. having a rad on each side with a air tight seal letting all of the airflow be handled by one fan at the top is genius.
Overpriced piece of junk.
Since there's a custom "corsair bios" on there would it not be possible to flash the BIOS to a stock version from MSI? They're using a b660m mortar wifi here with the corsair name at the end but that board has to be the retail board with a stupid corsair only bios on it right? fanctrl from github doesnt work?
I wish they sold the case separately
I'm still using my Corsair C70 case I've had for 10 – 15 years years. Wish they still produced them I'd get the Arctic White and put all blue lighting in it.
Brown Brogues with a blue suit. Some people think that's "classy". Same as that case….
Can you fit a 240mm AIO for the CPU?
So much wasted potential
It has my Granny's wood panelling; I must buy it now!
A 120mm AiO with slim fans + a B760 motherboard for a 14900K whilst costing ยฃ3500. Corsair has lost the plot. Looks cool tho
For ยฃ3500+, this is overpriced shite from Corsair. And to be honest, looking at the state of their most recent custom water cooling products, itโs on brand. Do not buy this
if corsair do more would have their own custom fan software
That CPU running that hot even in an idle part of the game scared me.
just get fan control software
I mean it's not like they are a professional company that specialises in that stuff, how would they know?
Good on you for giving an honest review. I'd never buy a pre-built but like you said, some people may not be confident enough to build their own and will be happy to pay a bit more for someone else to do it and to have the peace of mind of being able to get it repaired under warranty. It does look like a nice compact little system that looks good and makes good use of space. However, it feels like a few missed opportunities… from the video it looks like there's space to double the size of the rad on the CPU loop, they've cheaped out on the motherboard and removing pretty core functionality from the BIOS like fan control is pretty poor!
๐
it is essentially a very expensive console
As always with Corsair…overpriced. Great review tho and I completely agree with you.
Update bios intel fixed it
Der8auer said the same thing, missed opportunity with this case.
They make PWM speed reducers. Noctua includes them stock on some kits.
i'm not gay but you look hot in the thumbnail
It looks like a toaster
Mac pro trashcan ๐
You know it's bad when even you don't like it.
You can also fixit by putting an AMD cpu/mobo…
