I saw Linus' WiFi antenna and it reminded me of a hack I used decades ago…
I took a sieve amd punched a hole in it. Then pushed a USB WiFi dongle through said hole and pointed the whole contraption towards the router about 50 metres away in another building and it doubled the signal strength.
Not parabolic or even close but worked !

Technically, any time you bought something weird from AliExpress, it was on purpose.
